By my very ruff calculations figured it was gonna take 10yrs of buybacks to reduce share count to 50% from when it started,
Currently part way through 2nd year - and it's going very thanks to market conditions and availability of sellers

Circa 45p gap created in Jan looking to get closed mid March, IMO gaps don't happen by accident, they're created by those in the know, I was wondering what event would bring us back down to this level
On the plus side, plenty of higher gaps equally waiting to be filled for those able to wait

Meanwhile . . . market leading yield and bargain basement buybacks in Lloy world, not long till divi pay day

Given the withheld divi's during covid Shareholders deserve a series of special divi's as compensation imo

So . . . Just standard 1.6p final divi + 2bn buyback eh!
* No special divi
* No hike in the standard divi (I refuse to call it progressive now)
* Excessive provisions for possible defaults
* Mediocre returns for shareholders
* Very disappointing!

If Lloy runs its usual distribution plan, ie spend £2bn on ordinary and special divi's + £2bn on buybacks, I have to ask - what they'll do with the other £2bn+ projected profit?

To speculate - History shows that 'progressive divi' uplift first happens with interim divi - but what if Lloy breaks from history - could there be a progressive uplift to the final divi tomorrow?

Might the expected 1.6p final divi be pushed up to 2p?
or
Might the projected 0.5p special divi be pushed up to 1p?
