I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various posters perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dog of a share', on the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company so I could run a comparison

On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 571 = 1176
Lloy 1905 @ 64.8 = 1234

In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 332 = 1112
Lloy 1553 @ 64.8 = 1006

In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 RBS & 1512 Lloy
Today's value
RBS 384 @ 261 = 1002
Lloy 1512 @ 64.8 = 980

In July 2017 Utrickytrees asked that I add BARC -
On 30-7-17 1000 quid bought 479 Barc & 1504 Lloy

In Sept 2018 Motley Fool recommended Diageo over Lloyds
On 9-9-18 1000 quid bought 37.3 DGE & 1704 Lloy

This weeks observation - Banks advance a little as risk of hard Brexit subsides, UTT suggested we dropped OCDO :-)

Overall conclusion -
A very basic comparison that does no include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dog of a share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.

Absolutely LTI - driving up the SP - supply & demand in action

We need more seller to keep the SP down - least till the buyback pot runs out lol

Brighteyes - that's why I decided against trying to trade the ex divi swing, ie trading costs and Lloyds relentless buying could leave me locked out

LTI - seems Lloyds relentless buying is starting to impact on the SP - plenty more funds in the buyback pot

I did have a little thing about it Graybird, did a few sums, decided not to gamble, I'm happy with my guaranteed divi income, it's what I live off now, and not trading costs

I don't think its anything to worry about Phil - I understand the volume figure is an average of the previous 20 days trading - pretty sure the daily volume average will be sufficient to continue with the current levels of buyback

IMO the current Brexit concerns are a gift for the buyback program, at some stage stability will return to the banking sector, and when it does normal market P/E levels will dictate a higher SP,

Meanwhile I enjoy a market leading and escalating yield.

Its no joke Phil, If not for those willing to sell the buybacks could not happen, I understand buyback rules state a max 25% of the daily volume, look like today's 22m buyback pushed that 25% limit, my thanks go out to all sellers (PI's, II's, Traders) who help today's buyback happen.
