This week's observation - turbulent few weeks for all bank stocks, Russia/Ukraine hostilities rattle on - Cost of living continues to bite, Strikes strikes strikes, XL bully dogs, china spy, immigration
A very basic comparison that does not include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' should maybe consider Premium Bonds.

Imact of Covid - Taking the PRA's word that Divi's are/ere just delayed, and Using 2019 declared final and 2020's projected divi's as benchmarks, This is my running balance on my 'Covid Impact Divi Deficit' (CIDD)
2019 Q4 2.24p - retained
2020 Q1 0.672p - retained
2020 Q2 0.672p - retained
2020 Q3 0.672p - retained
2020 Q4 1.76p - 0.57p - paid
2021 Q1 0.672p - retained
2021 Q2 0.672p - 0.67p - paid
2021 Q3 0.672p - retained
2021 Q4 1.76p - 1.33p - paid
2022 H1 1.34p - 0.8p paid - total retained - 7.76p
2022 Q4 1.76p - 1.6p paid - total retained - 7.92p
2023 H1 1.34p - 0.92p paid - total retained - 8.34p
Buyback program £2bn/70bn shares - worth ~2.82p per share
2021 Q4 Total retained 7.54p - 2022 buyback 2.82p = 4.72p
2022 Q4 Total retained 7.92p - 2023 buyback 2.82p = 5.1p
The way I see it - even inc buybacks - My 'Covid Impact Divi Deficit' currently stands at 5.1p
IMO Lloy should issue a 'special divi' to at least address the '2.24p 2019 final divi' that was snatched away just days before payment

Nice idea LTI - but does St Kilda have room for ~135,000
https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/news/2023/02/09/detected-illegal-immigration-of-at-least-135000-since-january-2018
Hardup - I'm not incorrect - a number of us remember very clearly what was said at the time by a representative of the PRA - but you'd be hard-pressed to find any evidence of it now - the guy who said it was never seen again
Motbuck - Yes, I ask clearly remember "we were told by the PRA at the time that divi's was not cancelled, just postponed" - Seems someone at the PRA 'misspoke' and all trace has been removed from the internet !!!
Fact remains - 2019 investors had their fair and proper return on that year stolen - doesn't matter how well Lloy has done on the back of the theft - theft is theft until it is repaid to those from whom it was taken
LTI
So your reply is . . . I should not focus on how much was snatched away, or how we had to struggle through the covid lockdown yrs, or what we were forced to sacrifice to just survive, Only look how well LBG is doing on the back of your 2019 retained/snatched/cancelled/stolen divi !!!
LTI
you say 'Getting of for 12p per share has been returned to shareholders from the balance sheet since a an unapproved dividend was retained. '
Pray tell us how much per share LBG has earned over the years 2020, 2021, 2022 - ie since the 2019 was retained/cancelled/stolen !!! - ie, earned on the back of the retained/cancelled/stolen 2019 divi !!!
LTI
Post covid annual divi's and buybacks have been funded from that years profits - the 2019 final divi has not been returned!
IMO, It's time to return the 2019 final divi to those from which it was retained/cancelled/stolen !!!
Maybe then Lloy might regain some respect from investors and the markets
