LONDON, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Britain on Tuesday scrapped a decade-old cap on banker bonuses inherited from the European Union, signalling a clear divergence in post-Brexit financial rules from the 27-country bloc it left in 2020.
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-regulators-confirm-plan-scrap-cap-bankers-bonuses-2023-10-24/
Cap on bankers' bonuses to be scrapped - The cap on bankers' bonuses is being removed as part of a post-Brexit shake-up of UK financial rules, it has been confirmed.

TUC not happy - https://news.sky.com/story/cap-on-bankers-bonuses-to-be-abolished-next-week-12991620
Skier1, for sure the SP is disappointing, but then one has to ask who decides the SP? And is it fair and reasonable for a business such as lloy to have such a low P/E
Dunno about past quarter of a century - but for sure the company has had to deal with a number of 'worldwide' events in the past decade (financial crash, Covid, Ukraine war and now Israel/Hamas war and IMO Lloy has dealt with the events well
Take a look at past 5yrs results, despite Covid and wars profits are rising, divi's are recovering strongly, assets have climbed, borrowing has reduced and thanks to the buybacks the share count is reducing - have to ask, what aspect of the past 5yrs accounts warrant such a low SP/ low P/E?
https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/l/lloyds-banking-group-plc-ordinary-10p/financial-statements-and-reports
Yes Skier1 - No.1 take away lesson from Mr Meerkats Comp. - each year the winner is invariably from the lower 20% of entries - as a group we are consistently over optimistic

This week's observation - another poor week for all bank stocks, Russia/Ukraine/Israel/Hamas hostilities rattle on - cost of living continues to bite, strikes strikes strikes, 2x by-elections swing to Labour
A very basic comparison that does not include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' should maybe consider premium bonds.
