RE: Drilling company needs to be fired20 Aug 2018 17:05
1) I don't know why they did not target the shallower hole first but would love to know
2) They did not expect to hit the "breccia" when they were trying to hit the "diorite"; they have said though that the breccia is an indicator of hydrothermal activity which is how copper / gold is formed; at the time they announced their geologists were very excited so I would like to know if this is still the case
3) Their model suggests ST is the source of the copper / gold in the area so there are no guarantees that hole 2 is going to hit the "diorite" or indeed struggle to get past the "breccia" if that is on route; this is perhaps why the price is so poor right now
4) None of us know much about the drilling company as there has been no photos for months now but I am inclined to agree with you!
3rd July RNS: Drill hole M2-041 is currently at 1,503 feet (458 metres). The last 200 feet (61 metres) of this vertical drill hole has intercepted intense hydrothermal alteration and mineralisation at the projected base of the M2-Sharktooth Dunlap caprock. The unexpectedly thick alteration and mineralisation, in the form of multiply-silicified, quartz-magnetite, hydrothermal breccia, appears to have taken the place of, or is very likely above, the copper and gold-bearing diorite. Drilling will continue through the hydrothermal breccia and is expected to then encounter the mineralised diorite intrusive.
8th August RNS: The breccia encountered in M2-041 is an indicator of hydrothermal activity in the Sharktooth zone, but forms a thick barrier to depths of at least 509 metres, preventing us from reaching the underlying diorite target. At M2-042 we expect to intersect mineralised diorite at shallower depth. We will keep shareholders updated as work continues.
