No chance hitting those heights today. Predictable crazy jump then settle off. This is seriously one of the most predictable shares in terms of crazy daily movements. So nothing to get that excited about. Clearly has been oversold, but now we'll see how it swings from here
Need another 5 more days of this lol
This is why we all invested in cine. However this is just like last year. Crazy crazy period. Genuinely have no explanations, theories, reasoning behind the falls and crazy rises. It's just a matter of timing it right on entry. I wish I'd bought more yday but didn't have the guts
Yep a whole bunch of new entrants I imagine. Good luck on those buying for the first time at these prices
Well arb certainly aren't having a good time, just like us
This is why all our debates, facts, theories, articles, beliefs can just be so wishy washy. The sp has had a terrible run, pretty much against all out expectations. Disappointing yes, but how much worse can it really get? Surely not how it was in November. But this has got to reverse surely. When? Who knows. I'm just glad I've been through this before, so not exactly bothered unless if it were to hit under 20p, which I very much doubt
Is there going to be an announcement or are we assuming it's just going back to normal? Not yet been updated on the website. I hope they aren't silly and impose masks like some businesses still want to do.
Lol well please find another source
No it is not. Where on earth did you get that from?
Best posts I've seen. Chuckle. Indeed terrible on both fronts. Testing times that's for sure
Insiderinfo, it's not policing, it's just stating what I've observed. I have no right to 'police' you. It's fine what you said. I'm just providing my angle on it. I feel as though I've been invested in cine long enough to change my immediate expectations. Some news is great and you're not the only one to point things out of course. It's just that my own ideas of what will bring a higher/consistent growing sp might be different from yours and others. Also I have a personal sp target which I hope it reaches as quickly as possible, but it's looking rather unlikely now, so I have to plan differently whilst holding on
Tbh, you're repeating a lot of what has been said by others. Confidence in going back to cinema and freedom day, imo won't change much. As for a takeover, non existent. Also, the US market is key really to pushing things forward. If/when that takes off, I'm sure the tide will turn. I feel that the UK market (not movies, but generally) is still back and forth. Of course there's loads of positives to come, but equally twists and uncertainties that seem to shake things all over the place. Our recovery should be huge once it happens
Insiderinfo, we've known about all these factors and potential for a while now. However, those factors don't tell the whole story, so imo the short term outlook is still uncertain. The sp hopefully doesn't take any harsh wobbles but based on the past 4 months or so, it's getting harder to predict. Can't see such a big bounce myself, but certainly expecting a more positive end to the year
Everyone has their opinions, there's facts out there too, but at the end of day no one knows the true ins and outs on the sp movements. On a good day or bad day. That's what trends are for. We can clearly all see that the trend is down right now. We don't know when this will flip.
It's clear to me that some on this board will just be positive without any deviation, but if there's deviation from others, it needs pulling up. I don't get that. To be frank, pretty much all of us have been wrong in our expectations and the reality of the sp situation. When will you just accept that and maybe try and learn from it or learn to think more holistic? This board is a tiny bubble in relation to all that goes on, but some of you take it as if cine depends on our posts.
Oh yes. Just wanted to mention Jordan888. The ultimate legend. Can't stop laughing about his takeover posts and how it seemed people defended or even hoped it was true. Just goes to show again, this bb is a bubble of non truths, which do not reflect cines reality. Jordan888 was desperate like a lot of us are, living in the hope of things changing, yet the reality suggests otherwise of the time being. I believe it will a longer than what people hope for, until the sp truly reflects good value. A lot of data suggests that. So it's just a matter of waiting if you can or coming up with a different approach. Each to their own
Ok smalltrader, whatever you say. TS you are correct, but the silly thing is, we're actually on the same team. As I said before, we have no major derampers like before and the catalyst to all of this is a woeful 3 months for the sp
Just sounds like one of those investors that thinks everything must go up on their watch. Fully well knowing that it's not how it works. Actually far more annoying than any one who's actually against the stock
Smalltrader, why debate on something when all you really want is a higher sp? I just don't get the motives or arguments. Maybe take a leaf out of lpd and sit on the sidelines.
You're just coming up with baseless points to justify the sp movements, yet you believe it will rise. So why would all this matter to you? Again this bb has turned into personal jabs and not cine related discussion, besides the few of us
My take is that those who expect constant rises based on certain news, haven't focused on how markets truly work. There's irrational behaviour all over the place and just because there's 'positive' news, this doesn't always translate immediately. If £1 comes, we can be happy, but this is still a bad period no matter how you look at it. Time will tell. Obviously those that wanted a quick out, may have to wait longer. No one can predict the perfect moment to get in or out. Cine gets pulled all over the place constantly. Just check the trading activity over the last 15 months or so.
I think there needs to be industry and cine news to get this well clear of 90s. Maybe some luck, rumours or whatever. One thing's for sure, the back and forth with the pandemic is still a major sticking point and we as a company haven't come close to getting what we deserve in terms of a good run of movies, exposure and strong numbers. I did read about the Cannes film festival taking place, so hopefully more of that to come
There was a reaction yesterday, which I thought. It was reported everywhere. As people say, the market looks forward. Also as cine is traded so heavily, I suspect there's traders that took advantage. It's hard to tell, but again, most of us have seen this before. We have 3 good days, so I expected a retrace. Regardless, it's good news that probably needs time to filter through. Also, it's not the actual official announcement, so hopefully next week will be a boost. However, again, seen this all before. No news is good news to the sp until it actually lifts it to new levels imo
Haha, nothing would surprise me
