They have also got a real grip on the financials over the last year or so, and it is now beginning to show through.

I'd noticed the on balance volume soaring upwards since early July after it turned up after it went below 200p. Bought some for the divi paid last month and have held on for the ride. I don't do my own charts , but there is plenty of stuff out there to give a few hints if in doubt. HL have really improved their charts and info and it is also open to anyone. I am usually in or around the same 50 or so companies . Not all at once though!!!! The CFO here is Tim Tookey the ex LLOY CFO who did well there in very difficult circs. 7 month high, hoping it holds on to this rise.

Although bg looks attractive now, it had a p/e of 13.6% and a divi of 1.35% . expensive and poor respectively bp has p/e of 5.14% and divi of 4.5%. cheap and good respectively It's the future we should look to, not the past

I am in, but at the moment not with a lot, just the profit of a good 2 week buy in early sept which I sold a couple of weeks later after a £3 per share rise. I do however get in and out of it on a regular basis, as I like the volatility, and a little divi if holding at the the right time too. Will see which way it goes early next week and the speculation about what will happen next, Interesting times. gl

I think that it is possible that Mick the Miner could be just the man to take it on after he does his six month stint at glenstrata before handing over to Glasenberg. Then a future merger / takeover of AAL by glen or another after he has steadied the ship and increased the value. Stranger things etc

To put a few more pence on the sp. Just about doubled in 3 months. Amazing how some good things slip by almost unnoticed, and some real dogs have a crowd for years, watching next to nothing happening

good to see sxx has steadied and the news coming out is looking fairly positive.

I think that those who need to br in, ie the tracker funds will have already bought as it has been obvious for a while now that this is going into the ftse250, and it's probably what has driven the sp increase to some extent.

I have always found their service to be fantastic, they answer the phone pronto, no holding, helpful and know their stuff. Pity the banks can't follow suit.

If it holds around this sp for the next couple of weeks until next review, it should be into the ftse350 at around 280 position with a mkt cap of over £500mil. Probably trackers have been buying on the way up in anticipation of that. So could possibly drop after that. But what a 3 month ride.

That 168p talked about last month came and went. Took more profit at 161p but original stake still running for now. Hope it's working for you.

Hard to see what justifies a 15% increase in the sp in 3 weeks. Let's hope it's stake building with a view to a takeover!! The fact that there has been so little said about it is surprising also. No complaints though from me

Jeffries have upped their target price from 148p to 168p according to Citywire today, for what it's worth.

It needs to be in 325th position or above in the ftse 350 at close of business the day before review date (15 sept) to be automatically included. So you can see that it does depend on whether the market booms or drops in the mean time as to what the market cap may be needed. But as it is now 135p would be straight in. gl This has done very nicely for me over the last few months by the way, although I took some profits at 135.

Last friday at sp of 115p it was ranked 343 in the ftse 350 when mkt cap was £353 mill, but is not actually in the 350 until or if, it qualifies at review date
