It makes it difficult to take heed of your warnings when you say the stock is not even worth 5p. For example, the Heathrow slots they hold would be worth £2 billion according to a recent report by Deloitte into the value of slots there, against a mkt cap of aprox £6.7 billion or about £1 per share. Then of course is the value of other slots held world-wide in major airports. atb

Look at those prelim. results, and raising the divi by over 120%, albeit from a low base. Great progress since the start of the year, will continue to hold.

What do you reckon to this? Surprised me this last run up

Doubled in price over the last 12 months, and yours is the first comment on the bb since mine in April!! I think many must prefer to watch shares going down.

The recent final dividend was actually worth 5% of sp (over 14p), even taking into account the sp rise recently.

Final dividend paid out earlier in the week. Still yielding over 7% and a great sp increase in the last few months.

An excellent 3 weeks so far, and the first close above 2000p for a couple of months

Keep in mind the interim ex dividend date for AAL is mid-August, and paid out mid-sept, worth about 18.5p per share. Worth bearing in mind if you are not in for too long though, as the price will probably drop that amount when it goes past the ex-day. I think the big miners are good value just now, compared to much of the rest of the market, which has got rather high imo. A bit of good news and they could move up quickly. Let's hope so.

Think you are right it certainly is at very low point at the moment. 4 year low in fact. Not in at the moment but have been often, at the moment I prefer, and am into BLT and GLEN of the big miners, purely because they don't seem to have the same problems with employees, and are also at low prices . New CEO at AAL will be looking to improve things rapidly though, so over the next 12 months I can't see you not making a decent profit. atb with it

Do hold these, but the p/e is high and the dividend low ( 1.5%), compared to bp and shell where the div is 5%
