Blencowe Resources: Aspiring to become one of the largest graphite producers in the world. Watch the video here.
Iâd love to know the name of the other company producing a saliva said test which is able to borrow capacity from pregnancy test manufacturers...
Any ideas?
I note this part if not up for debate, the PM said they had already begun to procure capacity.
There is only one test on the govn radar which can do that:avacta.
Add in the ceo saying the 10k test batch isnât far off and the scale of us affimer production and you have the puzzle imo.
Timster, good post. The problem is indeed jounros writing about things they do not understand in any detail.
How many of those tests from the govn document require infrastructure to be built so these rapid tests can be made in Britain?
How many tests are partnered with BBI and Abingdon and have 5-7m capacity at present (once approved)...
Which CEO has said he is in direct talks with government but canât say any more.
â All companies are required to return shareholder value at some point and to say otherwise really is for the birdsâ
Of course they are. Never said they werenât. I questioned your (very subtle) suggestion that Avacta may not be making money from these tests and somehow the profits would be leached by partners. Itâs just mad if you understand the IP avacta hold and the profit margins the ceo has spoken of/the industry.
As for shareholder patience, I would say this BB is not representative of that. Nor is it representative of much else!
Anyway, my point was a far simpler one. The concept that the market waits for these famed inflection points is just not true. The big moves happen when people least expect it. If they didnât it would be a lot harder to âmakeâ a market.
All the best waiting for inflection :-)
Buzz light year
â Perhaps the biggest SP boost would arrive with the first trading update once roll out has commenced and we discover, critically, if we are making any money from our huge contracts.â
Yes, because the market always waits for a logical time at which to equate potential with value.... ;-)
I get the point you are making but the concept avacta may not make money from these contracts (or that pharma needs to be proven to be a profitable business)is for the birds
Sorry for the typos. Iâm very surprised there isnât more talk about BIVDA scaling up operations. That can only be for lateral flow tests. That can only be avacta (given linked to bolstering BBI and Abingdon capacity) and itâs clear that was given to huff post from the very top.
The gov clearly doesnât think a vaccine is a realistic 2021 solution to this problem. By extension, mass population testing is their answer. They said yesterday, I.e. not speculation, they are already procuring capacity. Already...
That means they have seen enough from Avacta this is a likely solution. The contract, when it comes will be huge.
As I say, many will bail at 300-400 % gains over the next few weeks. Not to be sniffed at I know.
But...
Ignoring pandemics and future safeguarding, affimers will be on every radar of every big pharmaceutical company in the world. And for that we are talking 10bn-20bn calculations. For the fan boys, who say these numbers are pie in the sky, Google the top 10 pharma deals of the past 18 months. This will not compare to any of them.
I took as many as I could Friday, and will take more Monday whatever the opening price is.
All the best. Avacta is about to be a household name.
Oh, and note the only company the government will not mention.... yes, itâs the one with the key to the kingdom. Which inky 2 weeks ago our CEO said he âcould not discuss in detailâ
How peculiar.
As per the times article, theyâre antigen tests.
We know we are waiting on 10k batch, as CEO says âonce ready Iâll be able to update you with a far more precise timeline to marketâ.
The PM said these would be made in Britain.
We know from Huff Post that BIVDA are procuring manufacturing capacity.
We know from Huff Post this moon shoot capacity extension is linked to bolstering the capacity already in place by BBI and Abingdon. C. 5-7m already in place.
If you canât put all the pieces of the puzzle together by now....
For all the other testing company fan boys saying this is not avacta. Thatâs fine. Donât buy the stock on Monday.
This was the final piece of puzzle for me, lift off time is very close.
Now we wonât hit the heights of millions per day in a week or two, but we will in q4.
That will prove concept, which will be sold worldwide.
Will also start manufacturing in Asia over q4 Iâd imagine.
Affimers work. Many will sell out too low here. Ncyt attracting valuations by respected brokers north of ÂŁ30.
Avacta will be a multi billion pound company by next year. And taken out in h2 2021 imo. Any will sell cheap and look back with fevertree style tears.
Bloody hell... like buses this evening...
See twitter NHS advert on LFTs...
twitter.com/dhscgovuk/status/1317201147392909313?s=21
For me the kicker is the gov procuring capacity from BIVDA members.
That screams confidence they will roll out the avacta LFT in huge numbers.
Al has said this all along to be fair. Just taken a tad longer than planned, but then we are now talking government orders and taking over capacity of other LFT products.
No wonder he has been as cool as a cucumber throughout.
As the man said, âit worksâ....
Roll on Monday!
Crucially it says rapid pregnancy style tests could be ready for trial as early as next week.
BIVDA are procuring capacity.
Know any other LFTs about onto roll out a 10k batch for validation?
No, me neither....
Itâs avacta. You can argue itâs not all day. Wonât change the opening price on Monday. :)
Sounds like the 10k trial batch are ready to me.

âPilot trials of pregnancy style tests to begin as early as next weekâ
Think about it... If the gov is procuring manufacturing capacity themselves (and repurposing machine that produce pregnancy tests etc) they have serious ambition in terms of numbers.
Boris stood at the podium and confirmed this today.
I think this is nailed on now. If BIVDA are being asked to repurpose machines, then itâs for the avacta LFT. They clearly need more capacity than BBI and Abingdon can handle.
To the moon..... :)
Zztop. Very welcome. Thought it would put to bed all the âconcernedâ posters... âI hope itâs avacta but probably not...â they are so transparent.
Boris confirms at podium they are procuring manufacturing capacity (to be made in GB)
Huffington post confirms BBI and Abingdon are scaling up capacity
Further confirms they are procuring EXTRA capacity from BIVDA members (why may not need ODX imo)
Itâs avacta. As sure as eggs.
Confirms it is abi and Abingdon supplying moonshot. Given its huff post they will have got there from the very top of govn. Incredible stuff.
Add in the extra capacity being procured from BIVDA (and Johnson saying they are invested in British manufacturing scale up)... avacta is looking at a genuine multi billion market cap.
As I say, Monday will be electric
Wonât let me post link... but google:
Is Boris Johnsonâs Moonshot Closer Than We Think?
With a new focus on the local, insiders think test-and-trace really now can improve.
https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/boris-johnson-moonshot-tiers_uk_5f89fb4fc5b66ee9a5efcc47
Johnson said that all âVery High Riskâ areas would be prioritised for two types of rapid test, hugely improving the scale and speed at which people can be cleared or isolated. One will help test asymptomatic NHS staff on a regular basis (âLAMPâ tests) and the other will help care homes, schools and universities (âlateral-flow testsâ) to get results â without a lab and within 20 minutes.
Although these are tentative roll-outs and will supplement not replace current testing, the PM also said that âwe have started building the infrastructure for domestic manufactureâ to ensure numbers could go into the millions.?
As it happens, Iâm told bioscience firms that are members of BIVDA (the British In-Vitro Diagnostic Association) have indeed been asked by NHS Test and Trace to ârepurposeâ their manufacturing capabilities, amending processes for things like pregnancy tests to use their factories to produce the new Covid tests.
Two firms alone, BBI and Abingdon, will have a manufacturing capacity of upto seven million test a day, once issues like tech transfer are resolved and test sensitivity standards are passed.
