"Sensyne has generated £5.1m in sales from its licencing agreement with Excalibur, allowing the company to use MagnifEye in the lateral flow test.

Excalibur would not reveal its sales figures, but said several million of its lateral flow tests have been shipped in the UK and internationally.

Sir Chris said there was a big market opportunity for the new digital test outside of foreign travel testing, such as testing staff in staff large offices.

The company expects to sell tens of thousands of digital tests in the next few months alone, a spokesman for Excalibur said.

“This is a major scientific achievement and, we believe, a world first in developing a regulated software application using AI to enhance the accuracy of lateral flow testing and reporting," said Lord Drayson."

Actual numbers of patients admitted to hospital with covid 26% lower than headline figures
"At a press conference from Downing Street on Wednesday evening, Dr Jenny Harries, the chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency, took the public through slides showing that there were currently 7,891 people in hospital with Covid in the UK.

What she failed to mention is that this figure does not only include people admitted with Covid, but also those who test positive for coronavirus while in hospital for another condition.

Hospitals were instructed to distinguish between the two groups earlier this year, but so far it has not filtered down into the official figures.
In fact it is only possible to find the data by scrolling to the very bottom of the “Hospital Activity” page of the NHS website. Even then, the figures are woefully out of date.

At the most recent count for England on Oct 12, 26 per cent of the overall cases were not primarily Covid.

If that was extrapolated to Dr Harries’ British data, it would mean that more than 2,000 people included in the Government’s press conference figure are actually in hospital for other causes.

A similar problem can be seen in the daily reported death figures published on the Government’s coronavirus dashboard. On Tuesday, many experts seized on 223 reported deaths to argue that Britain should enact Plan B restrictions.

But the reported death data does tend to jump around depending on the day of the week and reflects deaths over several days. Look at the figures by “date of death”, and it is clear to see the situation is largely plateauing. "

Well if Croda was serious about acquiring Skinbio then as a starter for ten they would be better off acquiring Opti en bloc with its £41M MC obtaining 21% of Skinbio in the process for a paltry £8.2M + premium instead of the ££19.6M plus premium acquiring them direct as a prelude to a full takeover of Skinbio. They could then of course divest themselves of the non-core Opti assets to further offset any final price they pay for Skinbio

Thanks Sheep and gl with your other investments. I no longer touch oil and gas after getting badly burnt by Hurricane Energy which was also tipped to be the next best thing, and have been in and out of sng making a nice profit in the process having sold at a price much higher than today's rise but appreciate the continued potential there. My own external tip is boring old Smith & Nephew to gain a more modest 10-20% increase on today's share price by (and including) 4th Nov when their next trading update falls due. Look fwd to the day when we get some blockbuster news on OPTI so that we don't have to pass the time discussing other companies

Incompetent is not a term I would use Snip and whilst I agree communication when it turns up is very satisfactory lucky, the issue here is that for whatever reason that drilling information has not turned up at the expected frequency relayed publicly by the CEO and hence at the very least an explanation as to why this is the case should be conveyed to shareholders

Couldn't agree more Suthy, the observation here though is that it was the CEO himself who set the communication expectations re drilling results not the shareholders

Concur with Lochran re twitter news cash. The visible sight of a sulphidic quartz vein does not equate to gold present in commercial quantities although I suspect because of its proximity to the Kirkland mine it does. Note the RNS Assay result first sentence re hole CSD002.
"CSD002 drilled through the projected fault with associated significant quartz mineralisation at a depth of 108.5m. Assay results show this section of quartz to contain no significant gold mineralisation despite visual similarities to the gold-bearing quartz in the first hole. Drilling passed through further quartz and pyrite at a depth of 173.2m. Gold is present within this structure, with assays returning 1m @ 4.78 g/t Au from 173.1m. CSD002 was drilled to a final length of 215.2m."

Does make you wonder what's going on. Assay results were being turned around within 5 weeks earlier this year, it has now been 3 months since holes were drilled awaiting assay at Creswick and just over 2 months from Bailieston

Must admit I'm not sure investors realise the significance of some of the drilling results in so far. For instance "PROGRESS AT CHERRY TREE

Hole BCTDD001, the first ever diamond drillhole completed at HR4 has delineated an anticlinal hinge striking through the centre of the goldfield. This anticline forms the geological backbone of mineralisation at Cherry Tree where cross-striking faults to this anticline have filled with quartz-gold-bearing fluids. Holes BCTDD002 and BCTDD003 were drilled to define such cross striking faults.

MGA continues to drill orientated diamond core to gain structural geological information, and recently drilled holes BCTDD004 and BCTDD005 were designed to test the interpreted position of multiple cross-striking faults. Geological logging of BCTDD004 and BCTDD005 is currently in progress.

Hole BCTDD003 shows broad zones of low-grade mineralisation, often associated with high Arsenic (pXRF readings). The best intercept includes 0.5m @ 11.02 g/t Au from 98.85m depth."
