In the UK, reverse takeovers generally have a 24-month time limit from the date of listing for the shell company to complete the transaction. This period can be extended for up to 12 months with shareholder approval. If the reverse takeover isn't completed within the extended period (or the initial 24 months), the shell company is required to cease operations and distribute the protected funds to public shareholders.
