I’m also of the opinion TD isn’t too happy about it.
In today’s announcement he said:
“There is significant industrial, commercial and financial logic to creating an independent oil and gas company of this size with a leading position in the UK North Sea. The transaction will also provide the Combined Group with a solid foundation from which to pursue a fully funded international growth strategy.”
Hardly a glowing statement and makes you wonder what’s been going on behind closed doors

It’s also worth noting that shareholders could end up with less than 5.45% of the combined company.
I’m my view this is the worst deal Pmo could possibly have agreed to. Many questions need to be answered.

With all these twists and turns can we now have another party step in with deep pockets with an alternate offer. Paying off debt and taking out Pmo Shareholders with something of a premium.

If it happens it will be a sad end for this once great company.

Question is what price would either pay at this moment in time?

No tax losses do not transfer with assets and are based on a company Uk North Sea losses. I thinks it’s a relatively recent change to the rules that allow transfer of tax breaks for a whole company takeover. Presumably rules changed to make old fields more attractive for takeovers/mergers.

Yet Arcm didn’t follow the rules and notify the market! Also didn’t they buy the debt on the secondary market. Could it be that they were solidifying their position to control debt negotiations and the short used as a cash generator given their inside knowledge and ability to control. If a deal is nearing it could be said they are changing their position and moving money to new ventures.
My view is they announced the debt sale to cause nervousness and the idea they are dumping . All will be revealed at some point in the near future.
As I’ve said before, you have good knowledge of debt, a little too much for a chat board and suspect you have an ulterior motive.
As for me listening to others views, I’m fully aware this could go horribly wrong and do take notice of what others say and have a balanced view.
Perhaps you could highlight a few positives in your next post to prove me wrong and provide balance?

Devon, I’d agree that the bonds are a key indicator to how the company is viewed by the wider market.
However you make reference to the drop in bond price as a concern. Yet if we look at the charts the historic lows were at the last crash 20016 and feb this year. On both occasions bonds dropped into the 30 yet now with everything up in the air and Pmo teetering on the brink the bonds are still in the 70s. Although I’m surprised they are still as high it does undermine your own argument
Surely it shows things may not be as bad as they seem. IMHO
