'Behind the scenes they may be under some pressure from bond holders who don’t want to be holding till 2052 at 5%'
Could it be they are secured against an asset disposal and need to be unwound. Most debt after 2030 is 2% coupon or lower
weak bullish for a rise tomorrow. ADR seemed to fair better and blue after hours
Etisalat came out of India in 2012 and said it intended to reenter.
Until today, E& had c.6 .2% indirect stake in VI (via 13% stake in VOD) and is now c 2.4% indirect. Interesting if the 5G funding comes from UAE
surely we get an RNS to be clear. 18.3% of nothing is nothing
'What percentage of Company will they now own after the transaction?'
'As a result of this, the Aditya Birla Group’s stake will stand at 31.8%, while Vodafone Plc’s stake will be at 18.3%. This is a reduction from the existing stake of 75% held by the two promoters.'

'What percentage of Company will they now own after the transaction?'
Gov has taken 33.14%. VOD had 47.6%... I imagine there are related transactions within the group to unwind/ execute in the next phase
'Can they sell of shares'
LoL they originally bought from Hutch Essar.
A billionaire investor with a conglomerate needing asset leverage might pick them up if they are for sale. Depends if there are any billionaire investors who want to get in with the Indian Gov....
SP will be up 50% at 10 crore when the debt converts I am guessing
Presumably VOD will now include the carrying value of its investment in the group accounts, currently zero.. VOD share of 48Bn shares after the conversion. Should hear something just in time for the Q4/FY reporting I guess?
'I think Reed should have sold Vodafone's Italian division to Illiad'
I would have liked that if it would have got the SP back on track or higher. Last year Italy ebitdaal was c €1.6Bn. Someone must of worked out (VOD or an external consultancy) they could continue to service stakeholders (interest/ dividends) and pay down debt as it matures over the medium term rather than retiring debt early. Maybe EU had a hand in it too.
New CEO can look at it again, the business is still trading for many years yet
'Just a reminder the div is not safe if it comes with a corresponding decline in capital, the Sp.'
SP is back where it went ex div on 24 Nov....lets see when it goes cum div on Friday.
Germany economy will turnaround and VOD will ride up tracking GDP. UK doing really well and Africa a'resilient' hedge imo
No surprises imo. Seems to confirm initiatives delivered and outlook.

According to the Financial Times, Elliott disclosed its new holding after Vantage Towers’ majority owners tried to acquire the outstanding shares with the aim of delisting the towerco. Elliott’s move could delay or prevent them; it has a track record of acquiring a foothold in takeover targets with the aim of forcing the majority owners pay more.
Vantage on Tuesday reported a 4.8% rise in revenue to €263.7 million for Q3, giving inflation and an increase in tenancies as the reason for the increase.

Elliott holds about 3.5 per cent of Vantage shares, with the remaining voting rights controlled through other instruments.
Paul Singer’s investment firm has 5.6 per cent of the voting rights in Vantage, the group spun off two years ago from Vodafone, according to a filing released on Tuesday. It marks Elliott’s latest foray into Germany after it took a stake in

Well guessed newsid!!
Alot happening next week, including the main central bank interest rate hikes (or not). If interests rate hold or drop, I think we rise. If interest rates rise (VOD has 2.5% average coupon and limited near term maturing debt ), I think we rise.

' This company is overall qualitative. This company is fundamentally safe/conservative & well-run. This company pays a well-covered dividend. This company is currently cheap. This company has a realistic upside that is high enough, based on earnings growth or multiple expansion/reversion.'
