There is lots of DYOR, and DD to do before investing in microcaps, especially O&G.

There are, bluntly lots of con-men out there. I had personal experience of this a few years ago when a bunch of “investment bankers” in the city tried to “buy” my smallish, but debt free and cash generative business. It soon became apparent that I would end up with worthless paper, whilst the rode off onto the sunset.

I therefore do the hard yards on any small cap speculative investment.

After all that, I am massively reassured, that the likes of GRH, PG and LB, will to put it mildly “look a bit daft” if this doesn’t work out.

I don’t recall GRH r once suggesting that placings are not required, although he has made the point regularly that they should be accretive in the overall scheme of things. Is there something you can cite?

If you compare assets to market cap and shares in issue, it seems that dilution is on a different order of magnitude to comparable junior EandP outfits

as it is self evident that placings are vital for tiddlers in cash consumptive phases of business

I have only run private limited companies, and in the UK, so not sure how this applies.

Re the the £2m ish recent share sale and eventual repatriation.

I would have been taxed on any gain from the share sale.

I would also have been taxed on the discount applied to the reissued shares as a benefit.
