I suggest you re-read the list of disadvantages of SJ - taken from a site promoting slim drills - but as they point out, it has pros and cons.

The reason we have formation damage, as has been pointed out numerous times, was the need to use heavy mud to control overpressured gas in a "crumbly reservoir".

We couldn't have done that, drilling slim.

Intuitively i would think slimline not optimal for SJ, but not my expertise area.

I think slimline best suited to the type prospect Chariot just drilled

Slimline disadvantages :

By drilling slim there are also potential disadvantages:

·High equivalent circulating densities (ECD) can limit mud weight

·Eliminate contingencies

·Limit petrophysical information obtained

·Limit completion options

·Limit production rates

·Limit potential for future sidetrack options

My takeaways :

Slimline limits the mud weight which can be used -it doesn't remove the need for heavy mud

The other disadvantaged speak for themselves for deep, overpressured prospects
