The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I do wonder why people insist on bringing up the market size, it is completely irrelevant when synairgen are currently only planning on 100k a month. If sng were producing 10million/month I'd get it, this would never have recovered from the stupid vaccine crash.
Even now, after the huge worldwide vaccinations, 100k a month is a miniscule proportion of what is required for treatment and stockpiling for future pandemics.
One day a company may be planning to produce 10m treatments a month and the prospect of their share price rising on that basis could be affected by other treatments and vaccines, but synairgen is nowhere near that and stage by some distance.
I'm not sure the planned 100k/mth would be enough to satisfy Andorra's requirements for treatment and stockpiling!
Andy, the normal question was at best a bit left field and at worst a bit loony. Has there ever been a data leak, positive or negative, related to this company?
The Friday before the P2 results was busy, arguably the biggest results in the company's history, and some suggested a leak but there were as many buys as sells on that Friday and the share price only increased by 1.5p, less than 5%! There had been other big volume days and much bigger price movements which all meant nothing. In fact the conjecture when the price moved generally surrounded tr1s and who was buying and selling big holdings, not speculation of a leak, that was and still is not impossible but completely unfounded.
If this was a leaky ship then those conspiracy theories are not unreasonable but in this case it was as nearly daft as suggesting the virus is weakening.
It is unfounded negative speculation that draws the sort of comments, or abuse as you put it, you've read today. Ending your post by adding 'am I wrong', 'I hope I'm wrong', ' I'm buying more', ' I'm holding to the end' or suggesting another benign reason isn't going to deflect from the unfounded negative speculation.
Personally I think the explanation is that this is a volatile share on the aim, it's not the first time it has swung wildly for, even with hindsight, no apparent reason and it won't be the last.
Despite the information available you don't seem to appreciate that things have moved on since the 1980s.
It's much like arguing that a petrol fuelled car probably wouldn't achieve 60mpg because the cortina you worked on at Dagenham in the 80s only managed 30mpg using petrol.
To be fair I think sakura has now read the peer review and sloped off as he realises that he didn't understand this treatment and feels a bit of a berk.
We'll see.
I expect sakura will be busy reading The Lancet peer review. Once he's done that he'll to us in simple terms the mistakes, errors and omissions it contains.
This thread looks like another good excuse to post a link to outstanding Lancet peer review. I know most of us have read it but sakura obviously hasn't.

Indeed, some experts appear to be keen to paint a rosy picture with nothing but a gut feeling to go on.
For balance, of course, the important warning should be noted.
For those that missed it the important warning was that work must be done to prepare for future pandemics.
That preparation will no doubt take several guises but stockpiling even a small amount (say a billion doses worldwide?) of a virus agnostic treatment would be an obvious move.
The market seems to have picked up on the important warning rather than the hopeful hunch and the share price has risen by, at one point, as much as 40% since that story.
As ever it is important to keep things in perspective but even a small stockpile would see the sng share price increase a bit more.
Deramping is posting largely unfounded comments on a share forum which can be interpreted as negative. Anyone who thinks the motivation for that is to realistically affect the value of the company is stupid.
If you are accused of deramping nobody thinks you will effect the value of the company, it is a less offensive term for an argumentative moron, aka a troll but usually specific to a share forum.
There was a pillock on here last year who announced that "the virus was weakening". Obviously it had no effect on the share price, but it was an example of an unfounded comment which could be regarded as negative for a company producing a treatment to combat said virus. The author was correctly vilified who, despite the evidence, clung on to his stupid deramp* until he comically and emotionally imploded on here, and more so on twitter, several months later.

Is there any scenario where polygon could have gone short and still had voting rights?
I assume the whole thread was removed due to tiger16 and that org character.
I see that cretin Tiger16 has been trolling sng yet again.
He hideously ramped arb, posting that he had bought at nearly 250p, shortly before it tanked. He did almost exactly the same at he1, bragging about buying at nearly 25p before that tanked. Ironically he trashed sng for months and when that dropped to 130p he panicked and sold, telling us it was going to drop to 120p, shortly before it went to 220p!!
Everything tiger16 has touched, apart from sng, has turned to rat****.

Well they do, but obviously you mean you're not as simple as that.
I've had worse months, lol!
I can only speak for tiger16's posts on sng, but in the last few weeks he has spammed sng with arb at nearly 250p, he1 at nearly 25p, recently told us he sold sng around 130p because his investment banker friends across the pond told him and now he's come up with another winner.
Good luck everyone.
Tiger16, I understand your desperation.
A few weeks ago when you was in full troll mode, telling us you are a former investment banker with friends across the pond (ha, ha!) you told us you paid nearly 250p for arb and nearly 25p for he1. That in itself is tragic but a few days ago you told us that you had sold sng when it dropped and you told us it would drop to 125p(ha,ha,ha!), you sold your best performing share around 40% less than yesterday's high!
I remember you telling us that you were sharing your information for karma, do you know how karma works?
Ouch!
I'm not going to try and justify my opinion that the vaccines have worked to a degree. That degree is significantly less than advertised when we were all encouraged to join the vaccine trial. I'm appalled by the vaccine or nothing bigotry though, the latest being that anyone who questions the original claim of 90% efficacy should be chained up with the dogs (to add to the other stomach churning bigotry) tells us everything we need to know about the personalities involved in that sect.
Sadly the vaccine or nothing gang can't accept any questioning of vaccines.
It isn't in doubt the the vaccines have saved lives, the issue is statements like "vaccines work" without qualifying it with facts such as the efficacy is way less than that suggested when talking the population into being part of the trial, and the number of required doses looks like it will be triple what was originally advertised
I've just had a look back at this board during the vaccine crash and one of the most active of the vaccine or nothing gang actually posted a link showing the claimed efficacy of Pfizer over 90% on one dose.
Who'd have thunked it?
Well if you didn't see '97% effective' it mustn't have happened then?
Not a very compelling argument imo but if it works for you then knock yourself out.
