Nice to see Microgen tweeting about our new Antibody test.

Great spot by Gasman, 12 month contract to supply UNICEF, awarded back in July.

With lawyers charging by the minute, you bring them in as late as possible. Iain Rawlinson would have taken this as far as possible and now passed on to the big shots in DLA. I expect some of the circa $10M we raised in the placing will be lining their pockets.
We’ve gone through some consolidation time for a decent rise tomorrow. GLA
9inch, it was a debate earlier but you’re sounding desperate now. The small rise on the 21st could have been caused by Voleon closing some of their short. Voleon closing more today says a lot, they know we’re rerating and they want out before it costs them even more losses.
Voleon short info below

9inch, you will appear again when we make the next move up through £6/7.
There’s a chance we’ll be bought out by one of the giants, AZN, GSK, thermo etc before covid is over. We may never have to worry about an order book after covid, there’s always that $68B diagnostic market to fall back on if we don’t.
I see from your history that you were posting negatively on GGP board after their recent 52 week high...
Allah4uk, agreed and when you consider they could run 30 tests at the same time it’s 2 minutes per test, which is very rapid. And with winterplex test, they will know if they have flu or covid.
‘36 hours to come for a result. I prefer 15 minutes.’
Result within the hour with a Q16/Q32 machine. I can’t see a reason why the mobile sites can’t have a handful of Q32 machines for same day results.
Results in NHS setting will be within the hour.
9inchnail,
The AlphaBiolabs COVID-19 Antigen (Ag) Rapid Test is one of the world’s first rapid screening tests for the identification of the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), from 14 days after initial exposure to the virus and or after the onset of symptoms.
You have to wait 14 days or be symptomatic for this to work, a bit pointless? No mention of the specificity, probably junk status or why not mention it?
9inchnail, there isn’t a rapid test on the market that matches the accuracy of PCR? Novacyt know that NHS, care homes and near patient testing require the best accuracy to avoid disaster in those settings.
What makes you think we are behind our competitors brining a rapid test to market? Perhaps the trademark ‘Promate’ is our rapid test kit brand and it’s due to be released in the next month before our competitors? With an established government supply contract, it would be very easy for us to offer this ahead of our competitors.
9inchnail, some of the contracts awarded to private companies have been questionable (Randox), perhaps you should reinvest your time complaining to your local MP? Mologic, from memory, weren’t up to scratch in accuracy?
Novacyt are providing a top quality product, independently tested and.verified.
You still haven’t commented on our ability to develop a rapid test, it seems that’s one innovation you don’t want us to make?
Most of our so called competitors haven't sold a test. You didn't reply to my last post?
As for rapid tests, have you considered we could be working on one? One of our group companies have a rapid test for Flu, see below. We have a trademark 'Promate' and it was confirmed today that further covid products could be released if there's a demand for them.

Now that you mention our MCAP, what's your opinion on Avacta's MCAP?
"Also, it has been noted that the PCR tests are too sensitive, producing positive results when the amount of virus in the patient is likely to be insignificant. Another reason for perhaps going down the rapid test route even though it's less accurate."
That's why our PCR tests are now certified for use with Saliva, so there's less chance if picking up dead virus RNA from the throat.
9inchnail, this contract is for NHS hospitals where accuracy is important. You don't want to use a rapid test with less accuracy in this setting. Having one test that identifies flu or covid is a great benefit too. Keep the patients separate, or risk dual infection of both viruses.

9inchnail, Novacyt have their eyes on the $68B diagnostics market post covid. If they deploy thousands of the Q16/32 machines in the next 12-24 months, they will have a nice installed base to continue to sell standard diagnostic tests in to in years to come.

With Numis onboard, do you not think there is a plan to take Novacyt to main market with II's buying in?
9inchnail, I've supplied the government when I used to own my own business. You can request payment in 14 days because they know cash flow helps businesses. Also consider, we're not supplying all the tests in advance, we're supplying the equipment in advance and I'd expect tests on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Another point, you're complaining about the margin being high. I remember you questioning if we'd be reducing margins for volume sales a few months ago...you can't keep some people happy eh?
9inchnail, as others have pointed out it's the tests that build up the contract. The winterplex tests are more expensive, someone found them online for circa 45 Euro at list, so if the government have paid £25 they have a reasonable discount applied. And bear in mind that checks for flu and covid, there's a time saving not having to run separate tests. Time is money.
9inchnail
"'300 PCR instruments and related kits for that much is going to cost NCYT how much? Are the UK government paying in advance for this? If not, NCYT surely will need to raise cash to pay for them, no?"
The machines are sub £15K list, we have enough cash to handle this. And if you ask the government for upfront payment in a pandemic, I doubt it will be a problem if it helps speed up delivery.
Also bear in mind we have a pilot in care homes, our orders could be several times today's order if they adopt the technology. The ability to test for Flu and Covid in one test is a great USP that our competitors don't offer.
