War in Karabakh: Russia agreed to provide military assistance to Armenia

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia will provide Yerevan with "all the necessary assistance" if clashes take place directly on the territory of Armenia.
This is stated in a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday, Evropeyskaya Pravda reports.
"According to the agreement, Russia will provide Yerevan with all the necessary assistance if the military clashes are transferred directly to the territory of Armenia," the statement on the website of the Russian department says.
The statement notes that in connection with the appeal of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to President Vladimir Putin with a request to start consultations in order to determine the type and amount of assistance that the Russian Federation can provide to the Republic of Armenia to ensure its security, "we reaffirm the commitment of the Russian Federation to allied obligations in Of the Republic of Armenia, including those arising from the Agreement on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia dated August 29, 1997 ".
On October 31, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request for consultations to determine the type and amount of assistance that Russia can provide to Armenia to ensure its security.
