Because they’ve still got gross profit to roll around, when they get any funds in they don’t pay all their outgoings straight away! Those funds will get used as they go along, ie investing in India. Closing down Argentina they then dont have any funds to do that. Loss or not that’s the way it works. I run at a loss for a few years but still managed to buy new machine tools to continue trading. If they took that away the company would have had a massive heart attack and collapsed, then their only option would be death spiral finance or another heavily discounted placing like they did before as the risk would be to high for any large investors.
They have stated that their strategy was to use Argentine gross profit to invest in India without it that wouldn’t be possible. That’s why Latam was needed.
Ok then so let’s say they pulled out of Latam when things looked to be getting rocky 4 years back. You’d have a company with no revenue and and £2m in the bank. How would this have helped them in India?
If they’d of pulled out of Argentina when they went into India the revenue would of been zero straight away. They’ve not just had head winds they’ve been caught in a hurricane getting battered from every side. It was always a case of trying to getting India flowing as the decline in Arg was happening but that hasn’t come off as they expected. India’s a massive market but has lots of players to complete against. Their only hope is to carry on with the current strategy of hanging onto the big boys and pick up some crumbs.
Cheers Diggit, had a nice Christmas in Nottingham then a quiet new year back at home working on an extension. No rest for the wicked. Hope you had a good one, and happy new year to one and all.

The problem is ST, your mate Nick is no doubt controlled by the chairman of Volt. So until he’s told to advance this further or quicker then this is the pace that it will go at.
