Hi Ian GM - You had your say and please allow me mine. I remember under the Tories we sold our silver at the cheapest rate we could, in the 80's. Sold BT (I used to work for them) British GAS/All the Waters/All the Electric Companies to mention few. When one sells any thing, they think they got the best deal, they could. Just like us, waiting here for the right time. I also remember my local Hospital may have been built in the 20's or 30's, but it was falling apart under your Tories and in came Labour and it is thousand time better. When all the silver was sole and shares started to trade, they just didn't double, they went up by 300%. To some extent I do agree they did waste Tax payers money, but then we ad to save our banks, even though I feel we should have let them fail, in order to teach them lesson, not to spend more then they can afford. Have you already forgotton, how many OAP's were killed by this Gov, during the Covid Shambles. Just finished the night shift, so I would go on.

I did not vote in the first round as a protest vote. This time round no quorum is required for the AGM, only the EGM requires a quorum. So, not voting would be pointless, particularly for the AGM resolutions (the first ones).

An experimental drug for severe Covid cuts the risk of hospitalisation or death by about half, interim clinical trial results suggest.

The tablet - molnupiravir - was given twice a day to patients recently diagnosed with the disease.

US drug-maker Merck said its results were so positive that outside monitors had asked to stop the trial early.

It said it would apply for emergency use authorisation for the drug in the US in the next two weeks.

If authorised by regulators, molnupiravir would be the first oral antiviral medication for Covid-19.

The pill, which was originally developed to treat influenza, is designed to introduce errors into the genetic code of the virus, preventing it from spreading in the body.

An analysis of 775 patients in the study found:

7.3% of those given molnupiravir were hospitalised
that compares with 14.1% of patients who were given a placebo or dummy pill
there were no deaths in the molnupiravir group, but eight patients who were given a placebo in the trial later died of Covid
The data was published in a press release and has not yet been peer-reviewed.

Amphin Money should not be the issue, when it comes to saving lives. I pay almost 4K a month in Tax and NI, so would have thought any one needing, would get it.
