"the Company is pleased to report that it is advancing towards initiating international arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Slovenia"
What kind of double talk is this? They should be "initiating arbitration" or "not initiating arbitration".
The phrase "advancing towards" is very vague. I guess it causes some SH to get excited about the future of AST with this BOD at the helm.
IMHO / DYOR
Maybe the BOD should prepare to make a plan to look at extracting lithium from the water produced from PG-11A.
Or prepare to make a plan to store CO2 emissions in cavern wells in Slovenia.
Those would be a good announcements at the AGM or even in an RNS!
It would allow them to pull in another large investor, driving share prices up.
Or they could just concentrate on the wells they currently have and make them as economically viable as possible, with the restrictions they have to work with.
Pinguser5 - I agree!
Covid is serious, but I find it is too often used as an excuse to do or not do something that needs to be done.
I would think, with proper precautions, an AGM with shareholders in attendance should be no more risky that buying groceries, picking up a bottle of wine of visiting the local hardware store.
And far less dangerous than the children being in school with 1500 other children.
Unless there are members of the board that are over 80 years old.

oldblue1973 - I am not sure if you are actually threatening me or not. I don't see how you could threaten me unless you are a member of the BOD.
The only ones who can be in trouble for trying to manipulate the share price are people with inside information.
Stating information you either have first hand knowledge of, or information you have found in your research of the company, its management or its history is NOT illegal. It is also NOT illegal to share your opinions on past or present facts about the company and their processes or decisions, especially those released in an RNS. It is also not illegal to share your opinions on whether a person should buy, sell or hold their shares.
I am not sure where you get your information from but if you check with a lawyer, I believe you will find you are incorrect.
IMHO / DYOR
oldblue1973 - I have never, and will never be a short seller. Much too risky for me.
I doubt any short sellers would be interested in a stock valued at 5 p, as there is too much risk for the amount of profit that could be made.
BTW - I don't know any posters on here claiming to be giving professional investment advice. I know lots that are simply stating their experiences and projections.
IMHO / DYOR
zoggz - I know what you are going through as you do the research. I started researching the current board members as soon as the were announced and I was just as p****d off as you are now. When I tried to share the research I had done, I was attacked verbally and called names by certain members who post on here.
I believe, as it sounds you do as well, Slovenia is currently the only chance AST has for success. Talk and promises will not make a company.
This board, as did the previous one with Buggenhagen at the helm, only concentrate on raising enough funds to pay salaries. Nothing left for operations!
Don't know your share situation but I hope all works out for you.
Now for my disclaimer: IMHO / DYOR
zoggz - Exactly. Align and Spreadex get in at 2 p, (then the share price is driven up with BS from the board) and out at 13 p. Make a crap load of money. They even leave in their initial investment to make it look like they are still heavily invested, although the have cleaned up and are willing to lose that initial investment if they have to. Although the could sell off slowly (say in 100,000 share increments) discretely dumping the last of their shares, for as long as possible.
Because new shares are issued, shareholders do not even have to get involved, other than to drive the share price up until the BS comes to light.

Pay me £150,000 for six months work a year, and give me a good CFO. The company will be operationally successful within 2 years!
For a part time roll paying £ 150,000 a year, you should get one of the best CEO's available!
Middle of the road CEO's should cost less.
Is JP one of the best? Or middle of the road?
Shinra - I neither ramp or deramp AST. I pass on facts if I get them and share my research with others on the board that may be expecting AST to survive as an oil and gas company.
As with other posts on here, you can believe or disbelieve what they say. It is information that you or may not want. Just information.
I am not naive enough to think that posts on here can make or break a company! Only management can do that.
Like it or not, AST has done nothing operationally since Hutchison left.
Buggenhagen accomplished as much as Parson has, trouble was JB ran out of ways to raise funds to pay salaries. Enter Mr. Parson, who does know how to raise funds to benefit board members and large investors. Now, there is nothing the matter with doing that, but don't pretend operations are your focus. JB did the same thing with the seismic studies, compressor, etc.
IMHO / DYOR
oldblue1973 - Let's compare what the NEW board has done to better the company in their first year to what the PREVIOUS board did to better the company in their first year. I think it is a tie!
Anybody can talk the talk. It takes experience and courage to walk the walk, which is what a board is supposed to do.
Unless betterment of the company is not their focus.
IMHO / DYOR
Oldblue1973 - I must be a bit daft, because I cannot understand your post at all. What was the point you were trying to make?
Your English is much better on the other AIM boards you post on than it is on this board. It is almost like you are two different people. That would be weird.

Kashdog - I agree with you. But the man does carry on so, doesn't he? Spewing facts and figures from documents created by the BOD and others that have a vested interest in publishing sunshine and roses for AST. To be honest, it is confusing to read and the documents quoted are carefully worded to deceive shareholders. He posts too much useless information that makes no logical sense.
Facts are:
No litigation in Slovenia and the JV contract expires soon.
Only a promise from some government official to get into Cuba.
AST will need tens of millions to develop in either of these places. Where will they get that kind of cash? I doubt even a sports betting place like Spreadex would invest that kind of money in AST.
There is an old saying, "If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle the with your BS"!
oldblue1973 - The documents you linked to are carefully worded statements made by AST.
"beginning preparations for submission of an EIA" What does that mean? They are either conducting and EIA or they are not conducting and EIA.
Anyone who has been involved in conducting an EIA knows it is a long and expensive process.
The second link is to a Power Point presentation to attract investors. In it, AST can say whatever they want.
BTW, for anyone who isn't familiar with tailings from mines, they are basic the garbage that is left after the minerals have been extracted. I doubt there is any commercially viable quantity of minerals left in the tailings. These tailings are a nightmare to dispose of, and the legal and environmental liabilities are huge.
You keep telling us all to DYOR (as I'm sure Ping has done for years), but when we do and form our opinions based on that research, you berate and belittle us.
IMHO
Please say hello to the BOD for me.
P.S. Notice the capitalization and punctuation in my post! It makes it much easier to understand.
