Profound apologies to the apostrophe policeman (or is it men)
I’ll finish contributing to this thread with my very crude analogy
Avacta turned up at the firing range with a new weapon in their box. Something between a shotgun and a basic rifle. Confident they would hit the target but nervous of a bit of spread. Started firing and were taken aback, realised the weapon they had was so much more powerful. A few more shots away and the results were telling them they had something really special, more akin to a laser focused hunting rifle. Wow! That’s great but hold on a minute, we have to learn how to us the bloody thing properly if we’re going to be able to demonstrate it to customers. Well that’s ok we can run it in auto-mode initially and while that’s going on we can work through how to use it manually in different situations, bit like a camera.
Meanwhile at the firing range shareholders without binoculars can’t see the targets but they know from people’s reactions the results must be incredibly good.
Avacta are reacting in real time as the trial data comes in. Whilst it’s easy to get impatient as Avacta look to determine MTD they are also accruing valuable info about the entire dose-toxicity relationship which has got to be important in the longer run (at some point in the future may need to consider different dosage regimens and ranges of doses for whatever reason eg tailored to individual patient). Having recovered from initial shock Avacta putting in place a strategy to best ensure that the wider potential that they now see can be exploited. In my opinion few outside of Avacta really know the full extent of what’s under the bonnet here but AVA6000 does what it says on the tin, preCision!
Haven’t checked for spelling, grammar, punctuation and all that stuff so again apologies if you find errors.
