The deck of the vessel needs engineering for increased flow, water injection and gas re-injection. The hull of the vessel needs steam heating to keep the waxy crude liquid for offloading. Two separate design contracts?

I think that sums it up!

These AT trades are executed by the SETS computer (Stock Exchange Trading System) which matches buy and sell orders without a market maker involvement. But it’s as old as Windows 3.1 and not very robust.

I can imagine someone with Direct Market Access, paying no trading commission, is putting an endless stream of matching limit orders at buy and sell on SETS, and as the price finding mechanism moves around, they all get hit sooner or later. This results in massive volume and a static share price at no cost. So, if you want to control the price while your client builds or sells a big stake via ordinary trades (or delayed reports of OTC), that’s the way to do it.

No evidence for that, but it seems a plausible explanation.

At 13.44 the SP was 30p, at 13.45 a trade went through at 29.10 and by 13.52, it rose back to 29.8

It was definitely a sell and it punctured buyer confidence, not a fabled market maker tree shake, all in my view.

Someone trousered perhaps £20k profit, but trading ensures liquidity.

Sure it's a natural process but it took a hundred million years to evolve and we are going to burn the whole lot in a couple of hundred years. But the Stone Age didn't end for shortage of stone, the Iron Age didn't end from the shortage of iron, the candles didn't end from the shortage of whales and there are hundreds of years of coal underneath UK. The oil age won't end from the shortage of oil, but from the eventual acceptance that nuclear power is the betterr answer for the future, not mediaeval windmills

Good evening, can you allow me a bit of fanciful thought about the possible third partner in the Sea Lion development? It seems from both official and unofficial channels that there may be more than one contender.

There is the obvious Murphy Oil, where the key project team have migrated from, and if it looks like a duck, etc….

However, I am not a great fan of Borgo, but his comment about a returner from long ago piqued my interest. The Hess Corporation was the lead operator in the 1998 drilling campaign and Navitas and Hess are both run by Jewish people. This might sound odd, but I knew the late Leon Hess and once bought him fish and chips for lunch, to the dismay of his son John Hess. Leon was an Anglophile, but John wasn’t.

John is getting old now and is trying to make an exit and trouser a fortune by merging with Chevron, all as agreed by shareholders. Chevron wants participation in the offshore Guyana monster fields operated by Exxon, where Hess has a minor but substantial interest.

What has gone wrong is that Exxon has declared the merger an illegal transfer of licences and has claimed contractual pre-emption rights. The matter is going to an arbitration court in May 2025.

Maybe John loses, and who would fight Exxon with much hope of winning? He might be forced to sell Guyana for a ton of cash and then find another way to divest Hess Corporation.

What does he do with a ton of cash to start and build up another portfolio to exit? He might be looking for an off-ramp.

Perhaps John and Gideon have shared a beer at Sharkey’s?

You are right CJ it sat around 40-41p in Jul/Aug 2018, and drifted down to 21p over a couple of months to December, but I don't see any gap, just a downward drift

I once spoke to Glen and I still have his phone number on my contacts. How that was possible I cannot remember. Something to do with getting a minimum number of votes for a GM requisition, which failed.

He said that there were several poster accounts set up for this purpose. I was surprised by who he was in reality, but leave that there. He was a bit gullible TBH, thought that UK company law was better protection for investors than in Asia.

Long ago, I leased a flat in Stafford Court, and a London taxi driver told me that Alma Cogan once lived there and told me all about her affair with John Lennon and their goings on there. Oil industry workers have always gone on charter flights from Stanstead or Gatwick via Cape Verde. The number of civilian seats on the Air Tanker A330 Voyager troop transports from BN is very limited, and wouldn't cover a crew change. They once used B747 SP from Stanstead, but more recently Air Charter or Air Partner B767 from Gatwick.

No booze on south run, but bar open on return run.
