Looks like only time will tell if you are right or wrong. It is hard to imagine you know what thousands of small investors intend to do. The rise this week is very good to see, and will tend to bring more attention to this share, pushing up the sp. But as those are joined by the more risky investors there could well be bigger swings. All normal, no way to predict it IMO ATB

My guess is that they buy on a regular ISA or other salary related scheme. Dont see any reason to be suspicious. These have risen nicely in the last month, as construction recovers they will get back to former levels IMO. GLA

Interesting views from a first time poster. I can only assume that you are not currently in the same biz in an average town in UK. I am, and my view is that you are not correct, the buying public right up to past the mid market have never been so cheapskate about their purchases. Your image of Topps is the classic, in fact the illusion they have created is that they are cheap when their GPM confirms they are not. The public are conned in to believing the hype. Where they will struggle will be when they come in to direct store to store comparison with Tile Giant and another low price seller who is growing like mad in a worrying way. Lets just say that they are mullah'ing Topps prices. Britain is currently bargain basement concious as far as tiles are concerned.

I think some sense of logic is being lost here. Look at the decline in turnover, look at how high the previous GPM was, at year end this MUST have been adversly affected by the exchange rate. No way can that high a margin be maintained. How anyone can suggest a 10m profit defeats me.

Looking good today, see this as a nice recovery stock going forward

Very good point, although the Han proved that they will respond in kind to any threat. Apparently all the works and offices emptied out as they came on to the streets with any weapon they could find. Some places I went to they stared at me, my host said that most likely they hadnt seen a white man before. No influence from another country would be possible, but from within there is some chance of terrorist threat. I hope not, I respect their culture a lot, they can already teach us things in that respect. Facinating place

In the greater part of China there is no ethnic conflict, they are all Han. Fully agree with you that Govt are seeking all routes to keep control over a population who are becoming ever more middle class on the main areas. The demand for democracy continues to grow, but they still fear being too outspoken. As for human rights, in a country of 1.3 Billion, all things can happen, but in my travels from Hong Kong right up to the Great Wall I just saw so many people trying to make their lives better by hard work. They are a remarkable people, and, freed from the Maoist excesses, will return to their enterprising true natures.

Important to undesrtand the size of the place. The unrest with the Uigurs is away to the west, so far away from the polulated part. Elsehwere the fear of theft and industrial unrest is the driving factor that makes them put guards on the gates of every factory. Give that guard better surveillance as a back up and secuity will be advanced. Downside is that labour is so cheap compared to high tech solutions.

Seems this one has been on the blocks ready to sprint for quite a while. I know it is this time of year when all things slow or decline, a little tick up would be so good to see. If they make it big in China then the future is big. Despite being freed up a bit the Chinese just love to keep evrything under control, surveillance will be huge as their economy develops.

Hope youre right. Have been in China quite a lot, the pace of growth may have slowed this year but it is unstoppable longer term. So much market potential

I did look, but wondered if I'd arrived a bit too late for the big rise on that one. I know pharmas can explode on good news, but has it already been and gone up as far as it could?

So the effect on sp may be negative for a while now?
