Furthermore you may point out to them that getting the manufacturers of things to self-certify their safety did not work in the case of Grenfell tower so what makes them think it will work for devices that aren't just passive, but actually store large amounts of energy, and which are not bolted on the outside of a building, but are often put on the inside, where the people are.

Colt45 - that is why Bushveld is increasing it production from around 3,200 tonnes per year (Vametco) to over 8,000 tonnes per year.

The additional 5,000 tonnes production will bring in around 150 million USD in revenue.

it is not just Rare Earths that China might choose to restrict the export of:-

Note the key point 'items related to national security and interests' - with the chinese having had to delay one of their key high-profile battery projects by 2 years due to spiking Vanadium prices, what are the chance that they may see restricting their exportation of Vanadium as in their national interest ?

Yep Bruchsal is just down the road from Pfinztal where The Fraunhof Institute of Chemical Physics has a very nice 20 MWh VRFB building coupled to its own wind turbine. The aim of the head of the institute is to try and make the entire institute energy independent.
