Libero - your presumption that this is in any way to do with the behaviour of private investors may be mistaken - Market Makers do not need to balance their books on an hourly , daily or weekly basis so the assumption that the SP moves in response to PI behaviour may be completely wrong. The huge majority of Private Investors have clearly bought and are holding for fair value to be obtained, whilst a few trader types attempt to play the swing trading game and some even try and accentuate this with nonsense postings designed to undermine the company fundamentals.

It is doubly so if you are one of only 2 companies outside of China that are up and running to meet that expansion. 20% of 100,000 tonnes is 20,000 Tonnes or roughly 5 times what we are currently producing.

uksteveg - imagine that the people who own golden summit also own a different entity. Now imagine that some of the shares held in the name of Golden summit are transferred to that second entity and that the second entity's holding is less than 3%.

dubmaskullanga - the original phase 1 BESS plan only had 44.5MWh pencilled in for the northern cape (https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/blog/public-articles-1/post/bushveld-energy-eskom-battery-mandate-2018-339 ) - I wonder if it is due to the fact that Eskom themselves own relatively few windfarms, Sere being their largest, whilst the others were procured under REIPP programmes and are independently owned. I don't know precisely what the reimbursement for these is for curtailed supply - i.e. supply that they were able to make but at a point when Eskom didn't need them. I do recall that the REIPP people were getting paid nothing for this which seems harsh, but which may explain why Eskom is not incentivised to go that bit further to make use of the useful energy that is being generated by those resources.

The slight difference is that the original report outlined 47 sites, but the recent report describes only 7 - thus there may have been some consolidation of original battery sites into a smaller number of larger sites - possibly as a result of transmission constraints and potentially favouring the larger VRFB technology installations.

sammy - the question of whether these 500K 'sells' are even real is a pertinent one. Remember that the Market Makers can legally open naked short positions, i.e. sell shares they don't have using their 'I owe me' card. Each time they do this they wind their position up that bit more and the spring tightens.

if those 500K sells are actually real sells and not simply the MMs printing themselves IOU notes that they hope to be able to fill later on at lower prices.

or simply the MMs trying to stifle a rise so that they can take cheap shares from unresearched gamblers
