Anyway...this is where the conversation ends. As I said before I found most of your posts inaccurate and wrong...so I'm not going to get inundated with back and forth posts on a matter that is the least of PIs concerns.

Pboo - I remember you insisting over and over again that the Balcombe flow test wouldn't start until mid October, yet Angus had mobilised, rigged up, carried out the 7 day flow test, rigged down and started demobilising on 2nd October........so best stick to curtains and leave the time lines to other folk

Pboo - Well Angus hasn’t given us a lot to cheer about have they now? lol I’m sorry if my timeline doesn’t fit in with your brief investment in Angus. Folk trying to make a quick dollar is fine, but folk quoting timelines that can’t be met will just cause impatience and frustration.

They don’t know where the water zone is....because Angus said it themselves in their RNS. Hence the need for logging. Which I have already covered.....

If the water zone is where I have said I expect it to be (again read my historical posts) then its at the bottom and they would just need a bridge plug (isolation plug). But as they don't know even though they should have already logged the well......then they have ordered extra equipment for all eventualities. I hope this clears up this matter.

UK onshore does not have a lot of rigs in the first place and some if not all are usually being utilised. And don't forget some rigs will be out of Angus price range.

Nothing at all about being starchy as you put it. Angus is a company and is obliged to stick to corporate governance including being audited by 3rd party companies to ensure it is being run correctly and as an example free of any claims of bribery for contracts, hence why you send out tenders. And asking for a rough number for your costs on a back of a beer coaster won't swing. They have to itemise everything down to the nut and bolt.

Well it’s nice seeing one piece of the jigsaw puzzle soon to arrive from the States. They have ordered extra equipment Plan A / B scenario as they don’t know where the water zone is….which I find very strange when they have already done at least one logging pass of the reservoir.

But folk saying the rig will arrive before the isolation plug arrives are I’m sad to say going to be very disappointed. The last RNS said:

“The Company shall immediately start rig selection and submit a detailed engineering program for approval by our partners and all relevant regulators.”

Rig selection means writing to rig companies and asking them to tender for the project. They have XX days / weeks to respond with rig specifications, personnel required to operate it, costs et al. Angus then have to review each tender proposition from each rig company (all part of due diligence of being a company) and choose the best rig contractor taking into account price / reliability and safety.

You then have to see if the rig is currently available or when it finishes its current project (assuming it doesn’t have multiple clients afterwards).

The Engineering programme has to be completed first (if it hasn’t already) and then reviewed by OGA / EA which is not an overnight read.

These things do not happen overnight or even in weeks. I still stick to my 1-3 months, being more inclined to say closer to 3 months.

So yes there are still many hurdles to cross and patience is certainly needed before we get to the simple fix which intern will see the SP rerate.

Scallywag - purely a treatment / disposal cost factor or you use an old well at Brockham to reinject it back into the well. End up saving a lot of money.

“Immediate remedial works” means now….not in 1-3 months, without a rig, depths of the water zone, a plan and regulatory permissions……there is no way it can be immediate. So I don’t believe operations will restart next week.

Their scatter brain approach to managing projects is terrible.

“Does it mean selling up, well no. As long as you don't need the money then the well has been drilled and just needs the correct completion equipment / isolation packer(s), as well as well testing equipment, rig and OGA / EA sign off on the final equipment which will be run in hole (well schematic) which needs to include ODs / IDs of the production tubing, ODs / IDs of the completion assemblies and their setting depths.

I would say due to the profile / angle of the well that the water zone is at the bottom of the perforations (deepest part of the well), as that tends to be the case as Oil and Gas is lighter than water. In simplistic terms all you need to do is run a bridge plug and squeeze some cement.

End result is you have a production well which just produces hydrocarbons with the water zone isolated. Crazy as it sounds but we will await longer for the components that they should have already had as back up at the site, along with an isolation plug as a contingency plan for encountering water (which they subsequently observed) than the time it will take to isolate the well and flowing hydrocarbons (I would say circa 2 weeks worth of operations).

Best to have this timescale in your head, so it doesn't come as a shock. And lastly, yes once the water zone has been isolated which is a standard operation and an easy fix then the SP will have a healthy rerate from its current standing.”

Balcombe:

Well I’m glad they have reached this decision, but this should have been back in October 2018.

The ludicrous thing is that there is hardly any changes to be made to the original paperwork submitted for the 7 day flow test. You will use exactly the same equipment on the site, so all the equipment spec sheets will be still valid and most importantly all the environmental paperwork will have already been QC’d and passed by the various regulators.

The whole sending Brockham well test package to Balcombe, notifying the Parish Council / residents and then cancelling it smacks of folk not knowing what they are doing.

Brockham:

Again I shook my head…..there are multiple suppliers of Bridge Plugs aka Isolation Plug / Packer in North America and the rest of the world. Why have they only just now sourced one after 6-7 weeks? I would not always go with the cheapest vendor. What you want is reliability and that it will set first time. Angus over the course of 2 projects (Balcombe and Brockham have had a lot of equipment failure. That is something they need to look at at tendering process level. Cheaper isn’t always Best.

I’m very surprised they haven’t sourced the water zone since restarting operations at Brockham in January 2019. They had the slickline truck there, so why didn’t they log the well? And surely they logged the well before carrying out the perforations in December 2018, so the logging run should have already pinpointed the water zone.

Normal operation would be source the water zone and then order the equipment you need to isolate the zone. Not the other way around.

Lidsey:

Purchasing DOR’s shares or in reality giving them Angus shares is bonkers. Lidsey is chickenfeed in comparison to Brockham and Balcombe. That half million pounds worth of shares would have been better spent on the Brockham remedial work or towards the Balcombe planning / well test.

Investing more money in a field that has self imposed production restrictions doesn’t make economic sense.

Until Angus satisfy the OGA / EA regarding the well integrity of the surface casing across the aquifers Lidsey will be in the same position regarding restricted production. It makes no sense applying for 24 hour production when the tap is virtually closed. Angus should have logged all the Brockham wells with slickline when the slickline truck was there in November / January. In fact they should have done it as required by OGA when they acquired the field…yet they didn’t. This is the only thing holding up the restart of water reinfection at Brockham.

Angus don’t have the staff to be planning Lidsey wells. They should solely be focussed on Brockham and Balcombe as these are the company makers.

Angus did a SHUT IN pressure test. Which means you close the well in and then observe how the reservoir responds. No pressure is applied to the well from surface at any stage. I hope this clears up this matter.
