We currently have 244 aircraft at Wizz Air - 35 of them are grounded. For us, this is now a long and painful process and we hope that the topic will be closed in two years at the latest. Of course, we work very closely with the manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, while at the same time we have invested in the purchase of 40 additional replacement engines. Such an engine costs us 22 million dollars. We ordered 40.

Current Grounding Status

• Number of Grounded Aircraft: 38 as of early October 2025. This is down from:

• 41 at the end of June 2025 (Q1 FY2026 close).

• A peak of nearly 60 earlier in 2025.

• Fleet Impact: Represents about 15-16% of Wizz Air’s total fleet of ~237-250 aircraft (primarily A320neo/A321neo family). The airline expects an average of ~34 grounded aircraft through H1 FY2026 (ending September 30, 2025), with no major improvement in Pratt & Whitney’s inspection bottlenecks yet observed.
