@Poor investor, wolf does seem like a nice chap. He's backed up his point with hard facts from rns to highlight the fundamentals on cine...pretty impressive ...surprised it was missed in 2021 report. Imho

They are not meeting their obligations though. They are deferring rent payments and obtaining waivers every time they breach their debt obligations. Jeff - have a read of the going concern section of the 2021 annual report. It's not pretty.

I hadn't realised they didn't consider the Cineplex claim when evaluating going concern. They state "No liability has been recognised in respect of the judgement on the basis that payment is not considered probable at this stage, and
the directors have not factored any payment of damages within their assessment of whether it is appropriate to adopt the going concern basis for the Group as at 31 December 2021"

So there is no provision in the accounts for this potential payment.

But then strangely also go on to say "There is a material uncertainty around the Group’s ability to successfully appeal the judgment and avoid the damages payment."

The real kicker is "In the event that Cineworld is unsuccessful on appeal the group would not have sufficient liquidity to pay the existing level of damages awarded. It is also noted that Cineplex is an unsecured creditor."

So if this appeal is unsuccessful I think it will be the final nail in the coffin. They've basically told us where Cineplex sits in the event of an insolvency.

It's seems wolfofwarks has backed his arguments with details from the annual report which no one here can argue.. Its seems like the longs here are abit worried by the research he has posted....the writing was on the wall...how could investor miss it...I don't understand imho

Debt boring is probably expensive with the level of risk cine possess on their accounts...interest on that boring would probably be very high hence significant dilution point imho

WolfofWarks well spotted pal...basically the writing was on the wall in the 2021 annual report on 7th April 2022 when the share price was at around 32.50p at the time. Investors or PIs either ignored and took the risk and have therefore paid the price. So I guess they were pre-warned so can't really point figures at the company. Secondly the recent rns gave a clear picture. PIs yet again choose to ignore AGAIN! jangho seems to have learnt from that... Can PI investors make the mistake twice by ignoring the rns and eventually learn the 3rd time...time will tell lol imho....good find wolfofwarks

Hahah Jeff.. tbh honest. Ur either long or short on this...ull always find or make statements that justifies ur investment of going long or going short...ultimately what's the concrete facts, its all in the rns...cineworld made a statement about restructure, bankruptcy in US and significant dilution. What's the reaction. Jangho, the 2nd biggest holder close to selling out...surely those are the facts...are these positive news...depends how one reads it...to me, they're all red flags..why the rise? There hasn't been a tr1 increase with high volumes and its been 2 weeks...so one can only think, the rise and drop is PI induced. Groups operating privately and reddit possible who knows imho.

I really don't think anyone knows. Since it's turned into a gambling/ casino share. Small investors out doing each other out of greed. It all depends on the private groups behind this lse board. Working together to manipulate the price imho..

Cruis1..do remember for every winner is a loser...some may have made a fortune whilst others who got caught in on the fomo at the peak made huge losses .ultimately shorters loss..but on the other hand small investors outwitting each other may have colluded to sell at the same time leaving nieve investors trapped at a higher price just to outdo shorters imho

Jeff, maybe u could be right, jango may have sold around 2 to 3p, to take over the company cheaper which would be under 2p which I define as 'cheaper' imho

Jeff, soo many unknown variables...they may have fix, they may not have, or their contract is about to come to an end and is due for renewla who knows!

What do we know, jangho, selling at a loss. So ur saying, they've probz sold out to buy the company cheaper...so if they sold out around 2 to 3p...and let's say they do a takeover offer at today's price..wouldn't that be a weird thing to do lol paying higher price for a company they sold their holdings for less...imho
