Simple reason, in the past, they ignored past performances and offered contract based on the bid price etc as regulation didn't allow companies to be judged on past performances when bidding...that looks likely to change soon. Which MOD has been trying it's utmost best to push this new regulation through...once in place, I really can't see MOD continuing with capita, so much negative highlighted by the committee in below link...imho

Under the original rules..now .they've been fighting for the regulation to change over the past 6 to 12 months where they would want to look at past performances before awarding contracts. Could be a big blow for capita imho

The report raised concerns around Capita’s involvement in the Defence Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS), calling for the MoD to review Capita’s performance and saying it was “absurd” that the MoD is not allowed to examine a contractor’s previous performance in deciding on contract awards.

Infact capita is paying real living wage...the announcement today of 10.1% rise in the UK real living wage rate is more cost to Capita lol imho

So to my calculation 10.1% - 1.25%(ni) = 8.85% extra cost to the business imho
