British shipbuilders boosted by £500m government scheme

John Wood, Harland & Wolff chief executive, said: “The scheme will help UK shipbuilders to compete, win orders, and create new high-quality jobs across the country. We look forward to using the scheme as both a customer and builder.”

The government estimates that the industry supports 46,000 jobs and £2.4bn of sales a year.
