Northern Italy woild be my preferred place, sensible yearly climate ..close to Switzerland in you need to run to the hills😁.Cyprus and southern Spain too hot in summertime and full of golfers and size 20 lassses in crop tops! Italy is classy and obviously has great food and architecture.

I agree,Ive got dual-nationality(Irish passport 15 years now),Spain,Italy and Portugal are most likely destinations,but mainland only, living on an Island isn't for me.You can drive or get the coach or train back to the UK,if ever there's issues with flying.

Investing in one promising company is a great idea,if you have hundreds of thousands to chuck at it.Then you just set a d forget it for a few years then,Hey Presto! You are stinking rich! But before you do that you do the hard yards and build that pot of money first...not wait 30 years like Warren Buffet...what's the point in having billions at nearly 100 years old.

That's a distinction possibility,also not everyone wants a massive pension, especially if you are planning on buying an annuity.I just happened to transfer a defined benefit pension from a previous employer into a SIPP,I t wasn't a big amount of money..but it's turning into one now,I've not added any money to it,I don't need to.I aim for a good level of comfort,not interested in owning Super Yachts and Helicopters, contentment and peace of mind along with good health is as wealthy as it gets imo.

Ive 6 x my SIPP in less than 6 months of opening it..I should hit £4.5 million quicker than Cev did😉...but I don't want to move to a desert with a few bars and restaurants called Cyprus! I'm 100% right about the pension,how many people can realistically re-locate at the drop of a hat? Cyprus,the 2012 banking crisis,where the banks actually took money out of people's accounts,the constant threat from outlawed groups from the middle-east,it's not Utopia,it has problems like everywhere else in the World,low-taxes great... while it lasts.

Ukmoe,if you take an annuity then you'd get smashed with the big taxes, that's why just like you I'm planning on selling my shares at £2.Ive got other types of investments outside of stocks going on.Im hoping to re-locate abroad eventually..but like a lot of people in the real World,I've got family commitments to deal with first,not everybody can just take-off like Michael Palin or Coleen Rooney when it suits them,that's just about the dumbest financial advice I've ever heard,anyway good luck with your endeavours.

Uknoe,it all depends on how you plan to take your pension,if you go down the draw down route or take staggered payments,then you can reduce your tax-bill.

Ukmoe,I've top-sliced a fair bit,but invested in a few other shares which are doing very well,so I see it as money well spent,I will be taking some more to buy a new motor,once we hit peak MRE news,then leave the rest invested in my ISA,I've got a load in my SIPP anyway,so not worried at all

Slappy,yup,the clock gets that bit faster every year, that's the main reason I gave up work do the things you never had time to do whilst you sloging away at work.

Old age is a privilege,one looks around any cemetery and it's amazing how many people didn't even make middle age.
