Is it only me that notices most days show far more shares being sold than bought yet price remains in our favour. I'm not complaining, just curious as to how the market really works......
Buy orders for 30 million, sale orders for 15.8 million equals price reduction of over 2%.
Keep buying folks and we'll pick up some very cheap stock!........
Buys total 100 thousand, sales total 5.7 thousand yet price down 2.4%. This is one screwy stock, no logic to its suply/demand.
Less than 2000 traded, price up over 5%.
What is going on??
Buys total 100k+, sales total 2.7k, price down 1.65%....hmmmm
I realise I rail on about buy and sell volumes versus prices, but today is another example. At 9:30 there were 27/- shares bought versus 1200 sold yet price down 2.75%!! How does an investor
believe in an ordered market?
Stock down from a 53 week high of 237.5, yeah 'astute'
Can't see where this will bottom out. Stock has no friends.
Manipulation is understatement, buys outnumber sells 5:2 yet price down 3+%. What happens to the price if ratio is 2:5?
Closing bid is 407, offer is 409, share price is 405.
Can someone explain this for an amateur like me.
Buys outnumber sells 4:1, price is down???????
Strange game this 'investing'.....purchase of just over a thousand shares and price is up 4%. Hope someone buys another thousand!
Purchase of 1000+ shares drives price up over 4%.
Really?
Shares bought outnumber shares sold 4:1 yet price down 2 1/2 %
Are no. of shares bought and sold meaningless?
I see these contradictions all the time!
This makes accurate figures redundant.
Who is aware of mid price at any time of execution?
Sells = 21M, Buys = 57M, closing price down from yesterday???
Will never understand the market.....
Thanks for that explanation; I still scratch my head though.
In today's example people are buying the stock cheaply with no effect on the price going up.
Also, does every stock need a marketmaker? Can't the simple matching of a bid to offer automatically constitute a trade?
Stock today has ended well down though buys much stronger than sales. What will it take to raise the price?
People may be getting bored with my previous posts on this subject but here's another example.
Buys outnumbering sales (1:30 pm) by 5:2 yet price down 3%. Is this not another ****eyed case of supply and demand? Maybe I need an expert to explain how the mkt really works!!!
@ 12:07 buys outstripped sales by roughly 4:3, price down over 6% (??????).
This daily price tease is becoming most odd.
Price rise in the morning and pretty much through most of the day, then clobbered at the death.
Manipulation?
