Maybe I have been sleeping under a rock, so if so pls excuse my ignorance but what assay results are these ? I was under the impression that no further work was being done in BW and that the results had been received and had not shown anything of any great significance, hence they were not proceeding for the time being. I might have missed something as I don’t live on this site, but can anyone else shed some light on this ?

What’s everyone’s view on any future downside of this? I would have thought the payment made by BP was in full and final settlement.

Anglo have known about these targets for the best part of fifty years ! They left because the KK Government at the time made life impossible for them. Did they open up about the targets so that others could wise up to them? Of course not! They sensibly sat on their inowledge and kept quiet. But now they are back because the licences are in friendly hands and the Zambian Government of today is more forward thinking and pragmatic. Why the hell, after doing all the DD and signing the deal, would Anglo walk away ? Especially when they are committed to getting more and more into copper ? Finding exactly where to mine and quantifying resources and reserves is what they are doing. That takes time and money, and would be out of Arc’s level of affordability. That’s why Anglo came in. they dotted all the i’s in negotiating the JV and now some of the experts on this board think they just have to stick a Black & Decker in the ground and up comes copper! Life ain’t like that, there’s more than likely a hell of a lot of it there but it has to be mapped out in detail. That’s the game we are in.

I have to ask this … given that BW is a sideshow and some initial assays are due soon on the Zambian drilling, could the latest drop in SP be as a result of a leak about them ?

Well that’s frightened me off now that I know we are in the middle of nowhere … millions of shares will now have to be dumped Monday, so we are all clearly stuffed - but let’s examine this: the strange thing is that it’s not often that big mineral deposits are found under cities, or right next door to a processing plant And yet, we manage to produce cathodes and wirebars!. If the copper (etc) is there, it isn’t beyond the wit of man, let alone Anglo, to dig it up, crush it, concentrate it and build a one track railway to somewhere where it can be leached, roasted, smelted or otherwise processed. And the other strange thing is that if you are in the middle of nowhere, it’s not exactly difficult to lay a one track railway…

I don’t understand why we are continually told the company “looks forward” to reporting these results, and yet it is taking an age. Preparing those core samples, and yes, even 500kg of them, is only 2-3 days’ work max (grinding, pulverising, blending, splitting etc). Analysis, depending on techniques used, no more than a week. Reporting two days. Anglo are not part of this so no embargo on results.

So why the hell are we still waiting ? One way or another these results are critical to release to the market. (And don’t insult our intelligence by telling us they have run out of test tubes FFS!)

Indeed - but all the more reason, I would have thought, to pay attention to detail then, given the business they are in!

I wrote and asked NVS months ago why a previous set of results was continually delayed, and received the answer that the lab had “run short of test tubes”. I actually know a bit about this, having tested such samples for a living, and I remain invested (heavily, for me), but that answer was unmitigated garbage. How many labs in this field use test tubes?

Nevertheless, I continue to hold and await a pleasant surprise …

I notice from the RNS that this company are going to be testing the core samples from BW.

It doesn’t inspire much confidence though, when they can’t spell X-Ray Fluorescence on their website!

Apart from wishing to report a mess on the pavement outside a Burger King in my neighbourhood, I have a serious question, posed as I am totally ignorant about these things. Over the years posters on here have been banging on about shorters in this stock. My simple question is, do they exist and if so, how do they do it, i.e. what platform do they use? My interest is not so much in shorting but if I have been looking in the wrong places I might be interested in being pointed in the direction of a platform where I can buy calls!

Interesting that there are still no big buyers showing their hand. It will fly if a big order comes in !

Pardon my ignorance, but do we own the 3M shares in TIO or TMNA ?

Trying not to be negative and hoping for the best here as I am quite long in ARCM but I’m just vaguely wondering if one of the CPs might be a satisfactory outcome for Anglo, of the Kabwe lead poisoning class action application that was heard in SA in January. AFAIK the Court’s decision is still awaited. If a class action is allowed to go ahead, might that affect Anglo’s future involvement in Zambia? Or are the CP’s solely related to Zambian mining licences ? A bit of clarification wouldn’t go amiss.
