We know that Edenville have submitted a bid for the Rukwa/Sumbawanga Substation, and Kibo for the Mbeya Substation, so guess there were also Tenders submitted for Kisada and Tunduma..

It would be interesting to know if any other parties were able to bid for the development of the Sumbawanga and Mbeya Substations?,....bearing in mind that we both currently have license over the approximate 300mt of coal...

It's very easy to forget the value of the coal as it's never ever been reflected in either companies value, but will factor highly in future negotiations, especially regarding a takeover/buyout in the case of Edenville.

perhaps they can use the coal to run some steam locomotive's...as by the time they make any progress electricity will most likely have been superseded..

I don't see Kibo and Edenville as competitors as they are totally separate projects.

Technically, and to the best of my knowledge there is no direct competition with the Edenville CPP as they are the most northerly coal deposit and are situated at the end of the planned Sumbawanga to Tunduma transmission line. So there is no other project (that I am aware of) that could feed into the planned substation at Sumbawanga. Of course, roll out of the line is subject to govt / Tanesco and not Edenville, but I would guess/hope that the fact that we have opened the mine and are producing should count in our favour. Other projects that tendered are no doubt spread throughout Tanzania, (including: wind, ng, solar and hydro) so it will very much depend on Tanesco's planning on where they want to move ahead first, and who is in the most favourable position. imho pdyor

You would suspect that Tenders were invited from suitable parties (or possibly not), and the fact that all the bidders were in attendance for the opening of the Tenders in Dar es Salaam it's clear that those people know who were also bidding. I don't know why that would be a secret (doh), but have asked the question via text and e-mail to everyone I can think of that might know. Whether anyone will reply is another question?...

I think there is much to be said for both companies, and for numerous
reasons. Hopefully at some stage in the near future we will get some
answers that will satisfy everyone.

With a new company, especially a new tech company recent history has shown that fundamentals are sometimes outweighed by positive sentiment. I think this has a little of both, with sentiment slightly ahead of fundamentals.

You say a Rough Diamond, one of our members says this will never be the Pot of Gold that you (that's me) hope for. I could be wrong, but would imagine all those genuinely invested here hope that this will be a pot of gold.

Guess only time will tell!
