You would guess any news of the investors (if good) will be timed for the New Year..

Things change, night turns to day! Who knows, April 2019 is virtually African history. What matters at the moment is what the latest most up to date RNS says, as it's likely to contain the status quo.

In this regard discussions with the potential strategic investor in the Project are progressing and a second investor has expressed interest in becoming involved with the Company as a strategic shareholder at the Company level.

That News has the potential to be game changing imo

I posted this on Thursday, just my thoughts:

If the African Union genuinely intends to be in a position for Companies to add Power to the EAPP and now in addition to the E&SAPG's in three years something needs to start happening pretty soon, and they will seriously need to utilise the resources of companies like Kibo and Edenville that already have proven amounts of coal. We know these two companies are unique and well placed in the Mbeya region, and from the research that is currently available they should be 2 or 3 years in advance of anyone Licenced and with Proven (substantial) amounts of coal!, so who ya gonna call?....

Also the African Union Masterplan should it proceed will encompass every Kibo project in Africa, and imho shouldn't be poopooed !!

I get your point, but a large enough Investor or an Investor at company level is not really the same as a Placing. Subject to the terms, the announcement of an Investor or two should be good for the company and the SP considering the current predicament and other likely outcomes..

I'm not disagreeing, just saying there was absolutely no need to put it out there if he didn't believe part or all of it will happen. So on that basis I'll tentatively take it as the early Christmas present you suggested !

There are a couple of points, one of which is why would AM have bothered telling us about the two possible investors if he didn't believe there was a good chance of success with them investing. The other is, if they have a possible, potential investor at company level that Investor must already be pretty au fait, and you would think only a bad or not suitable offer would deter them from Investing.

News of a new Investor or Investors will be good for the SP. News of Sinohydro extending would be unusual unless they can see the bigger picture with the emerging pressure to produce power in Tanzania and figure us to be in the mix..

Whilst there is currently no certainty that these negotiations will lead to a successful outcome for Edenville, the Board believes that the two coal new contracts increase the attractiveness of both the Project and the Company for potential investors. Further announcements will be made on these matters as appropriate"

Strategic Investor AND a second investor! (the mind boggles?) has expressed interest. Hmm not one but two!

So a placing is hopefully looking ever less likely!..

I'm not pessimistic. Currently slightly ****ed-off, but still optimistic over all !!

We have the EAPP and the new African Union progressing. The later incorporates all of the countries that Kibo have projects in, and consequently if it comes to fruition it will benefit every single Kibo project!

The RNS stated:
"Assuming sufficient working capital is available, the Company expects to be in a position to supply coal on an ongoing basis under these contracts before the end of Q1 2020. As previously reported, Edenville expect cashflow breakeven at Rukwa at around 4,500 tonnes of washed coal sold per month and has a target of achieving this by May 2020"

Good question!
Would the new CEO have taken on this task if he didn't think he could do what he is expected of him?. Would he have taken it on if he thought they would run out of money??..

There is no recourse as the 'original process' was cancelled/nullified, it is no more, its dead, deceased, gone forever! ;)

What has happened with the progression of the Interconnector/EAPP and now the emergence of the new Africa Union Power Plan there is clearly a possibility that the RCPP could at some stage be back on the table.

Also never forgetting the location of the Edenville Mine which is in Edenville's opinion of strategic importance!

There will no doubt be an RNS, but it's relevance currently is subjective imo

The Sinohydro MOU expired on the 25th Dec 2019 as Sausage mentioned.

Since the nullification of all the Tanzanian Mining Tenders the Sinohydro agreement seemed pretty academic, but with the progression of the Interconnector/EAPP and the new African Union Continent-Wide Electricity Market Masterplan which Sinohydro will be fully aware of, their association with Edenville Energy surely becomes relevant again. We also know that Kibo have been officially invited by the Tanzanian Government to partake in the EAPP and their CEO LC issued a RNS last Monday with reference to the African Union, and they (Kibo) don't have anything other than a 'Strategic Plan' ! ??..

Edenville's greatest opportunity is still the RCPP, and should an invite to resume arrive from the Tanzanian Government that will change everything.

I know from listening to the bod at multiple AGM's and talking to RS that being a Coal Miner/Exporter in the Interim has always been a means to an end, and I think it's now reasonable to suggest that with the coal reserves, the licence, the EAPP, the African Union Master Plan there is now more than one means to that end !!

It's inconceivable that the countries involved in this project would allow it to fail, or that any individual country would dare being the cause of it's failure. For the project to succeed in the timescale the respective Governments will need to institute authorise and initiate the building of power plants, imho asap !!

At least 110 million of the 600 million people still living without access to electricity in Africa live in urban areas. Most are within a stone throw from existing power grid infrastructure. In Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana and Liberia alone there are up to 95 million people living in urban areas.
