Ring them up and ask, I just did.
Some people are trying way too hard to assert their point of view. I only became aware of a potential positive outcome in May, before that ctag was written off in absolute terms in my mind. I really hope it comes off, I'd like to think it might, but if it doesn't I'm no worse off than I was in May. Anyone making out they've never taken a loss on a share is full of BS, at least here there is a prospect of recovering some, all, or even more than your original investment. If it doesn't happen, then it further reinforces a bitter lesson that has largely already been learned. I wanted to share my thoughts, notice how I'll only do it the once, if everyone did that we'd have a higher quality message board. Good luck to all genuine holders. The stock market is a cruel mistress, but occasionally the script is unknowable and the outcome goes against the wisdom of the mob. Either way, calling people stupid, naive, gullible or whatever, simply because they would like a positive outcome for their investment is really poor form. Just let it ride out, stay positive, and if it goes sour then take your medicine and move on.
What a merry-go-round this has become. Plenty of posters seem to be living vicariously through this forum....plenty of opinion that reeks of self assuredness and fool hardiness. Whilst I agree that this may all end up as a hoax, not one person has put forward a believable case as to why Amit would embark on such a public strategy of stringing investors along. I certainly don't know why, and when I consider the reasons being put forward here, well,I just don't buy it. I wish I wasn't invested but I'd also written my money off years ago. Whatever happens it will live long in the memory of those of us that have been caught up in this fiasco. That said, I'm still airing on the side of optimism. This forum really serve's just three functions. For the strong-willed it confirms the bias they already have, for the weak it undermines their original investment case, and for the open minded it throws up occasional bits of information that make you review how you make investment decisions ilso that you learn for the future. I'm going to stay open-minded. Good luck everyone, it'll soon be over!
*luck
A lot of people called it right today, well done to them. But to be honest I agree with a few others here that can't seem to rationalise how this is a scam. Why would you repeatedly draw attention to your inability to deliver, it doesn't bode well for Amit and he's putting more and more stuff out there that would be used against him in proceedings if this is indeed all a fantasy. I'll give Amit the benefit of the doubt, at the end of the day I have a very modest position. Why not entertain the possibility that there is something good to come here, it makes waiting a little bit more exciting. Who knows what will happen but good look one and all.
I've been onboard a few days for a medium term punt. A lot of baseless predictions being bounded around on here. For me the bottom line is the management team believe the company is worth more than £1.70 so I'm waiting to see how badly PE want THG. Future looks stable if not bright for THG, in the current climate that'll do me. Next week should be interesting in terms of more details becoming available. GLA.
I will come onto this bb unawares that news has actually landed and the SP has rerated, I'll be late to the party but I won't care in the least, i'll be relieved and will feel fully vindicated for holding EUA for years when seemingly there is money to be made elsewhere. I'm trying to occupy my time elsewhere, accepting of the fact that news will come when I least expect it. Today's weird 27 trades have piqued my interest but if today is noty to be our day I shall go back to more mundane matters. One day....hopefully one day very soon.....
officecat - Like I said, I hope I am wrong and you are right. Frankly I'd love it. But the level of corruption (as evidenced by the tree shakes , orchestrated de-remping etc etc) makes me doubtful. Someone always knows before the market....at least in the shares I've held. Either way good news is coming and the sooner and more sudden it is the better for all log term holders.
Well I was one of those hoping that the suspension would put the wind up the shorters....but as much as I'd love an out of the blue RNS that burns them all I think we will see a managed exit for major short positions and the an inevitable climb in SP before anything big is announced. I would love to be wrong but I just find it hard to believe that Blackrock etc make big bets like this without an exit strategy.
At the start of the Ukraine war I sold a proportion of my holding and popped it elsewhere for safe keeping. When the suspension RNS came in I felt sick as a parrot, after all that waiting I felt that I had missed the train event though I still has a meaningful holding in my sipp . This morning has allowed me to rectify that mistake and I have now maximised my holding here, still modest when measured to some on here, but which will allow me to benefit from any significant price increase which most of us expect at some point. Clearly Occams Razor didn't apply to yesterday's RNS, but one day it will and I believe that on balance the board want to make real money and they're working hard to that end.
If this is a managed exit for shorts tomorrow then I can live with that as the sp will fly. Dont know if that is the reason, if it isnt then the board need to be really clear what's going on as it looks like a gross act of self sabotage.
...and the writing says company sold for £1.50 minimum (IMHO). That's just as realistic an outcome as some of the dross being spouted on here. Would love EUA to pull it out of the bag now, I should really err on the side of caution but when you've been tied to this company for as long as I have then then you naturally have to assume this suspension is good news. Let's ave it.
I've enjoyed being a part of EUA since late 2018. To all those who have posted facts and insight over that time I really hope this comes good now for you (and for me obviously). Let's hope we're not kept waiting more than a few hours. Best of luck to all genuine holders.
Gazza - I hear you. Surely the novelty must have worn off by now, up and down with the share price, day after day, week after week. I'm sure they all drive nice cars but I doubt you'd get any interesting conversation out of any of them over dinner - it sounds like a soulless job lol. The market is as the market is, but ribbing the mms is pretty cathartic.
In the last 6 months I'd given up ever achieving my target holding for EUA, but I've finally got there this week. Very happy about that (for now lol). You pays your money and takes your chances. I'm not down with the majority who are spouting dross on here, this company has legs and IMHO it's about to start sprinting.
