Is this disease contageous? Can it somehow be spread through computer keyboards and contributing to shareholder chat-boards? Because I recognise some of the symptoms in myself. But only some, so it must be a mild dose.I'm not demanding, 'beauty' definitely doesn't apply, and certainly don't want 'special treatment' because that sounds rather sinister or backstreet cheap. And I shun admiration when it occasionally comes my way, preferring modesty.

However I do suffer from being occasionally self-centred, certainly arrogant when it comes to oilfield stuff and my treatment of people who think they know a bit about it but dont, and have grandiose fantasies of Hurricane shares someday making five quid, which might enable me to buy expensive whisky instead of the stuff I drink normally.

I'll have to ponder the questions about this newly learned-of malady during the course of today. While washing the ducks, maybe. And not taking any notice of the SP, 'cos whatever happens during this morning's brief opening-hours will be meaningless, anyway.

Nigwit won't read this because he's filtered me. Or maybe he will, because he hasn't, really. However, he states:

And I'd like to ask what concern of his is that? Whence this worry that people may have 'unbalanced portfolios' and have most of their money riding on Hurricane to win, rather than some sort of 'each way' bet to place?

Personally (though it's no business of his, nor anyone else's, but I don't mind other people knowing), I have a significant proportion of my savings tied up in Hurricane shares, I have complete faith in the EPS 'working', and being able to sell some of my holding at a profit in the very near future and thus being able to continue eating foie gras rather than newspaper, and continue my researches into whether it's possible to drink oneself to death, the (ongoing) results of said research proving negative so far, otherwise (and obviously) I wouldn't be writing this.

The only thing which annoys me about the FPSO still being in Rotterdam is that I'm not there as well. It could have been interesting. But it's a long drive, and I just don't feel up to it right now.

I suspect not. Because Spark Exploration is based in Oz. The UK address in Newcastle listed at Company House is purely a 'correspondence clearing-house', used by numerous oil / technology people.

This is pricelessly good opinion to post on a Sunday, given the market will only be open for 4 hours tomorrow before closing again for two days. Myself, personally, I don't reckon the SP will be of interest to anybody (other than a few computer 'bots' until Thursday 4th January or so.

Mind you, that's just personal opinion.

(a) It's Sunday, in case you haven't noticed.
(b) Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, in case you hadn't noticed that. Yes, the oilpatch generally works 24/7, but that might conceivably not apply dockside-wise. And giving 'the boys' some time off during the holiday season sounds like a good idea to me, 'cos there won't be occasion for that later on.
(c) Maybe a further reason why Hurricane hasn't directly issued news about the FPSO's sailing is simply that people have already found out, and publicly posted about it here and elsewhere... In case you haven't noticed, the weather WoS might be 'nice', but all along the Western European Seaboard (including the Channel and the N.Sea) it's been lousy. And Bluewater don't want their nice clean latching-deck in the turret to become filled up with dead haddock, empty water-bottles, and used panty-liners. It's that simple.

It's obvious you've got the same doubts as myself.

However, sleuthing around, it seems that the Newcastle address is just a communication 'drop-box'. If my information can be trusted, and I'm not sure that it can, given that the source (which I won't disclose) has current problems with the FCA, regarding some AIM-listed companies. Which are probably going to go out of the window by year end. Tough shite to their shareholders, but thanks to my informant who blew the whistle on the shysters...

There are some very real reasons emerging for 'real' investors in Hurricane to treat this 'news' about Spark Exploration with a great pinch of salt.

Something else related is CambridgeCarbonatesLtd.

I've never been on a 'cruise', though, and wonder what I'd do with the rest of the time when the casino isn't open. Being on a jackup-tow or the bridge of a supply-boat is my idea of fun at sea. Plus on jackup tows there's usually a card-game in the evening anyway.
