MOG's my largest investment and I'm banking on it to buy me a seaside flat in 10 years' time. When I will hopefully be retired and more concerned with walking my dog than the Meerkat. Not that I'll ever give up investing. The so-called Appetite For Risk needs to return before AIM takes off again. MOG is chronically undervalued but so are my other 18 investments! Patience etc...

But why would anyone with £10k to invest be interested in a fund? Split it five ways and with luck you'll outperform a fund without having to pay some chinless wonder!

LENI's shenanigans are a minor matter. MOG now has Italy within its grasp and the Meerkat doesn't seem interested. Ditto many other O & G explorers. The tide will turn. HOLD

In theory, the number of shares shouldn't make a difference - a £30m company is still a £30m company. But I'm not surprised the SP has fallen today after NGL announced much increased losses. Hopefully the only way is up and Zhaomin Mining must see value at this level if they're taking an 8.95% stake - I know I do!

And about time too - chronically undervalued.

Your calculations are probably more realistic than mine but at least we agree on £1 by the end of the year! Which would be almost an 8-bagger from here and well worth having. I made the mistake of buying XEL @ 67p and sitting on it all the way up to £4 and down again! Hopefully I'll play MOG a lot better!

I'm expecting at least £1 by the end of the year and £16 in due course. Tell me I'm crazy! I'm probably being over-optimistic but I feel the Meerkat isn't valuing "proper" oil properly at the moment. It's a diminishing resource despite what you might read in the Telegraph and shale gas has muddied the waters.

...but no mention of whether they're actually making any money. I suspect not as advertising and promotions must be costly.

I bailed out at 39p with a 27% loss in order to cover another speculative position but never expected DPP to hit 29p - like many other AIM companies it's now somewhat under-valued but I have no funds to buy back unless I sell other shares at a loss! I think the technical term for the mess we're in is "downward spiral".

You've completely missed the point! NGL now has new management and investors have clamoured to buy shares in the company. After the news that the placing had been increased 25% the SP stabilized. And so it should - if they manage to quadruple production it's going to be a multi-bagger. Particularly if the price of gold doubles or trebles in the meantime. And why wouldn't it with Western Governments continuing to print money? What's needed is a reduction in the gap between rich and poor. According to today's FT the bottom 50% of US households own 1.1% of the nation's wealth. In 1995 they owned 3.6% which was still pathetic. Capitalism appears to sow the seeds of its own destruction. Discuss.

I've just increased my holding by 200% so I think it is. I noticed that AR. is up 8% today and a Top Riser - their Mkt Cap is £310m and they're producing 140k ounces. Whereas NGL is valued at £14m and they're hoping to produce 100k ounces. I realise that costs come into it but even so... If the price of gold rockets NGL is more highly geared than AR.

And it's not only you and me - have patience and stop ramping! All will unfold in due course - ages ago my calculations suggested a possible 330-bagger but since then I've lost that particular piece of paper. If only my castle didn't have so many rooms...

Profit-taking! Which appears to have led to more shares being sold than bought but that doesn't alter the transformational news of yesterday. MOG are now back on track and I'm looking forward to a return to the highs of yesteryear when they were much higher than the 12p of 2011!

I have these on my Watchlist and am waiting to pounce! But after my recent experience with pouncing on AQP far too soon I'm happy to wait. But when they finally bottom I'd expect a fairly swift 100% return for the lucky punters who get their timing right.

It's only a matter of time before Italy sees sense. Where will the SP be when the drilling ban is lifted? And let's not forget Malta which might be even more profitable. I live in hope and MOG is my # 2 investment after RUR which is another share dependent on Government action but it also has fingers in other pies.

Obviously the shares are worthless if the trust is liquidated and the proceeds don't cover the loans. But why would that scenario unfold? I'd prefer to look on the bright side and view ALPH as a highly-geared play on European Recovery. This recession has gone on for long enough and we're all sick of it. Slash VAT to 10%, let everyone earn £10k before they pay tax and give employers a 2 year N.I. holiday for every new employee. Giving billions to the banks is not getting the money where it needs to go.

I'd be the first to admit that I have trouble understanding currencies but how could the shares ever be worthless? According to the last Annual Report ALPH's NAV is £254m while borrowings are £204m. In addition they have £12.8m in cash and unmortgaged properties worth £7m. Current Mkt Cap is £22m. I rest my case.

Had ALPH on my Watchlist for some time on the grounds that it's a wonderful investment if the Euro survives. And Sterling falls in value against the Euro. Both appear unlikely at the moment hence ALPH's plunge. It's currently yielding 22% and is ISA-able but I suspect it has further to fall. Bombed-out property trusts can generate fantastic returns when all hope is lost.
