all of you will have now had the opportunity to read Rapid's latest report and accounts? What is your view of the Auditors Review at the end of the report?

in an earlier post (which mysteriously seems to have been deleted) praised AE and the team for doing a great job. Question: to what degree is AE still involved? He isn't a director and, as far as I'm aware, isn't a shareholder. We are also aware of the current restrictions upon his activities. Given that his comments were cited by the company as being the reason listing on NEX was not granted, do you know if he still has any tangible involvement? He did people a great favour by being instrumental in the genesis of Whet (at least one assumes so), but is it still accurate to include him as being part of the ongoing story? Or, now he has done his job, is it time to look to others for guidance?

However, I do find it hilarious that you've spent so much time banging the drum and ramping this up and then, in a single post, reveal the fact that you haven't even bothered to read the web site of the company you've been promoting so aggressively. Your lack of understanding laid bare in a single paragraph. I bet you wish this site had a delete function.

Hepran, you are wrong. I suggest you read the web site and specifically the Investment Criteria section. These guys are not in the turnaround business and the web site makes this very clear. The do not have a background in turnarounds, nor do they have the substantial resources required to do them (a failed business is one that has no cash. It requires working capital) And you should be grateful that they are not targeting this sector. it is a very high risk game and there are already many players out there doing it. Much better to invest in exciting growth companies with a strong management team (as the web site states) and whose prospects are good. Given that you've been very vocal on this page, it surprises me that you appear not to have actually read what the company is saying. Anyway,the good news is that the company is focussed on acquiring stakes in exciting businesses and not the pie-in-the-sky stuff you've been talking about. Btw, I think Mr Squid can now happily put his calculator down and stop producing his utterly outlandish predictions.

Except that isn't the strategy. I suggest you read the web site. They are NOT about "pick(ing) up floundering businesses" Instead, they claim quite openly (it's all there) that they will invest in quality and cash generative companies. A quality and cash generative company is not a "floundering" one.

is an interesting little deal and there's no doubt the investee operates in a growing market and appears to have been successful thus far; although it's taken it a very long time to reach its current revenue levels. It also appears to dispel some of the wilder predictions of what Whet's business strategy will be.If they can find more good investments and operate as a micro private equity firm then the future may well be bright; although don't expect overnight miracles. One question: where will they raise funds from for future investments? An interesting start to Whet's life.

I now understand what he was trying to say. They are risking capital in the equities market in order to generate a return. Nothing wrong with that, but what happens if they get it wrong? How will they fund the acquisitions, particularly as there was virtually no cash to start with. Seems like a very odd thing to do, given the circumstances. Still, if it's working, good for them.

seathestars, that's not what was implied by the quote. And even if it were, just because they trade shares, how exactly does that money find its way into the coffers of Whet?

There are two mechanisms for this; they either issue more shares and subscribe for them or, they lend the money to the company. So, they are selling shares to private punters and are lending the proceeds back to the company. In other words, it's not really their money that's being used, it's the private investors money. And is their any evidence that the money has been re-invested? And perhaps someone could explain how selling shares creates revenue and ultimately dividends?

TC, it certainly looked like it. If they were all sales,as reported, the price would surely have dropped.

This was an astonishing performance but, before getting carried away read the statement carefully. The company does not expect the trend to continue and it reflected a number of unusual and beneficial one-off circumstances.

To quote the CEO of Sainsbury's; "we're in the money!" Except of course, we aren't. More useless paper to clutter-up the bottom draw.

And it only took them 5 weeks! Great performance.
