We have a completed a successful fund raise and a strategic review has been announced; you would have thought this implied a period of stability whilst we await our advisors recommendation. But no, our CEO has fallen out with the board and we employ a man who was appointed to the board as a representative of our junior merger partner.

Stack, I agree, it was refreshing to have a discussion without tempers being raised.
You may well be right about BHP, but there are many other horses in this race. My own view of them is that when we made the announcement that a peace treaty had been agreed, I became reasonably certain it heralded a period of cooperation which would lead to some form of mutually acceptable arrangement. For whatever reason this did not happen and it has quite clearly had the effect of opening up the field...which is a very good thing. This view has been cemented by the strategic review, which will be assessing all of the options available to us.
Having said that, BHP/NCM remain in a very strong position and their influence cannot simply be dismissed.
The next few months are going to be fascinating and I remain wholly convinced the review will open the way to a fundamental change.
It's been a long time coming, but the status quo is no longer an option.

Stack, I gave my opinion of the timeline for the completion of the review this morning. There's no point trying to second guess as to how long it will take to implement the recommendation...there are too many variables.

Sean, I would suggest Quady has been out-Quadied by stack. At least Q understands the significance of the review and accepts there are likely to be changes.
Still, it's good to have an alternative opinion.

Stack, if, as you suggest, the review produces nothing other than hyperbole and maintains the status quo, I think we can assume a great deal of shareholder activism.
The announcement of the review marks a sea change for the company and it's surprising you don't recognise the fact.

Stackhigh, it's interesting you think a Tier 1 discovery is of so little significance to BHP. I suppose all of their recent statements about copper being their future mustn't refer to Tier 1s. Perhaps they prefer smaller deposits?
Having said that, I do agree with you that we are unlikely to be on Henry's mind each day. However, I'm pretty damn sure he takes note of corporate developments such as the two which have been announced recently...it would be utterly remiss of him to ignore them.

Q, the only thing I can predict with absolute conviction is that when the Review leads to some form of corporate event, whatever shape it make take sale, production or otherwise, one group of people on here will take much delight in taking the pish out of the other.
