Stack, I agree, it was refreshing to have a discussion without tempers being raised.
You may well be right about BHP, but there are many other horses in this race. My own view of them is that when we made the announcement that a peace treaty had been agreed, I became reasonably certain it heralded a period of cooperation which would lead to some form of mutually acceptable arrangement. For whatever reason this did not happen and it has quite clearly had the effect of opening up the field...which is a very good thing. This view has been cemented by the strategic review, which will be assessing all of the options available to us.
Having said that, BHP/NCM remain in a very strong position and their influence cannot simply be dismissed.
The next few months are going to be fascinating and I remain wholly convinced the review will open the way to a fundamental change.
It's been a long time coming, but the status quo is no longer an option.
