Eloro, if you'd got your way at the AGM I suspect the chances of you getting your wish would have been almost guaranteed. Fortunately, you didn't and 99.9% of the shareholders who voted realised that Caldwell is our best hope of an exit.

15m votes against is utterly meaningless and demonstrates how virtually no one bought into Fort's twisted logic that getting rid of SC at this stage would lead to a good outcome for shareholders.

At least years AGM SC received 1.25bn votes in favour and 643m against. This year it was 1.92bn versus 15m against. So roughly the same number of votes cast but a very different result.

I'd say he's now got a pretty strong mandate and can progress with confidence knowing that shareholders support his strategy.

LordWM, the production argument has been put to bed and the board is focussed on moving towards an exit. This has been confirmed in the AFR article relating to DC's court case, which is well worth reading.

There's a way to go yet, but the AGM results have given our guys the mandate to continue the pursuit of delivering a good shareholder return.

Over time BHP's strategy became crystal clear (perhaps it always was and the board fell for assurances that they were there to help the company) and anyone who effectively voted to support them seemingly had no idea of the consequences. Anyway, we've been spared that and hopefully we can ignore BHP's whingeing and move towards the exit. If they don't like it, they can make an offer.

Bozi, I voted against NM in 2020, but at that stage we didn't know what has now emerged from the DC court case i.e that NM wants to sell. At the time he kept banging the production drum, which was probably BS, but it did him no favours.

Whichever is the case we need him on the board to support SC in the drive towards a sale.
