The board has complete authority to negotiate a deal and will do so behind closed doors. They may test the water with the larger shareholders in the most general of terms i.e are you a seller?, although theoretically this is not permitted by the rules. Full details have to be shared with all shareholders simultaneously.

They will already have arrived at the price following discussions with all interested parties - in other words a competitive bid process will have taken place.

Sadly, I don't think Fort's correct...we haven't agreed a price with anyone, unless of course, the directors who have bought shares recently have broken the insider dealing rules. The second point is that if our board and its advisors have agreed a deal it has to be disclosed asap.

Where I think Fort may be on the right track is that a number of parties have said they're very interested but need the project to be de-risked before they make any form of offer. This wouldn't need to be disclosed.

They mention the 2030s predicted production date (does anyone recall the claims that we'd be in production by 2025?). Caldwell and Mather will be heading into their mid-70s and even Sangha won't be that far off retirement age. We will have gone through two or possibly three election cycles. BHP/Newmont etc will have changed CEO at least twice by then.

Does anyone seriously expect us to still to be in possession of Cascabel by then?

It's estimated that between 12 and 13 million Africans were enslaved over a 400 year period - Africa now has a population of circa 1.4bn and is growing more rapidly than anywhere else on earth. Slavery is completely irrelevant to the current problem.

Bozi, the key to the funding package is that it doesn't contain any nasty poison pills. Sure, it'll have to be repaid before we receive anything, but let's hope we will not have maxed-out the facility when that moment comes.

There would be virtually no shareholder support for a significant equity raise and traditional loan funding is out of the question.
