Commenting on the approval, Philip Kirkham, CEO of Hardide plc, said:

"This approval is very positive news and is the result of extensive testing and verification by Airbus of all the processes at the newly built Longlands Road facility. The Airbus approval is testament to our coatings' capabilities and means that we can now close the door on our old premises and concentrate all our aerospace processing at our modern and much larger, custom-fitted new site."

The other significant comment from the interims that accommodates the Airbus uptick is:

The Group is well invested and, in general, has sufficient operational capacity to support approximately double the current annualised revenue, depending on product mix, over the short to medium term without further major capital investment.

Bought in here at 0.14p and topped up at 0.145p. Looking for exit at 0.3p but could easily race north on near term oilflow.

Of particular significance is a new approval received for high volume components for the Airbus A320 where the Hardide coating is replacing a competitor's coating.

Looking for retrace back to 30p as I load up on the way.

Looking a good entry point.

Biggest challenge in the near term is flu Vax uptake and people being sensible enough to wear masks again as Autumn kicks in. If not, then the last few flu-poor years will bite back with clout and we are back to square one with bed blocking. Let's hope peeps are sensible as Covid levels also rise.

This is now screaming buy from the rooftops..... for an American suitor. Tax breaks and a 50yr low cable rate can only be resisted so long....as the hedge funds are now realising.

Increased my previous max holding by 33% today. I'd rather follow a US NED given exposure there. Hedge against dismal energy inflation imo.

The share price is a joke. US Equity must come in now as all the orthopaedics are at a low and S&N has the ASC growth as the ace up the sleeve. One US director has called the bottom...... avalanche??? Sept 1st plus UK boost won't see these lows again....

Agreed......spot on ....they is why US director bought heavily into ADRs on Weds imo. It's always difficult to sit on your hands and wait patiently but good companies come to the fore. This recession will sort the wheat from the chaff....

Director buying £100,000 Smith and Nephew ADR's could signal the nadir here as he will be party to restricted information on progress. Hopefully the first of many as good to see other directors accepting shares in lieu of salary too. Covid regression and the sheer pressure of the need to clear elective surgery backlog may at last be breaking through.

It's high time the institutional holders here got their act together and either forced change or collectively put their block holdings on the off-market table (assuming that all of them are of the same mind as us PI's). Given the real and potential prospects here it's so oversold as to be farcical. Future-proofed in the greater picture looming of recession, I cannot see why a global player would not want exposure to the sector. Reputation and huge barrier to entry make S&N a diamond in this arena. Time for concerted action.

Well Bless me....I received a reply from Helen Barraclough the Company secretary today as well! Exactly the same reply as the previous ones so that's 3 of us on this site alone receiving a clone copy. As you state, it's obviously not an isolated letter to the Company. If we think this then the Insto shareholders will also be 'communicating' and probably working out how best to resolve the status quo. A combined-holding approach from disgruntled Instos could light fireworks.
Incidentally, I replied to Helen that the niaievety of the remuneration committee in agreeing to pass the share sale was incomprehensible!! There were numerous legally acceptable ways of resolving the issue rather than giving options to be sold within 30 days of his appointment. The BoD must have been living in cuckoo land.

£14-15 would start the bidding...your guess is as good as mine on the outcome. Sheer volume and demand backlogs are increasing value daily and at least S&N with its newly opened Malaysian facility and huge UK expansion has planned to be able to fill that demand. Solid company without the current CEO.

I too, as a long term shareholder, have voiced my opinions to the BoD. I am sure we are not alone and that the institutional holders have expressed their concern at the actions of newly appointed CEO Nath. They will be drawing the same conclusions that his foolhardy share sales poor inaugural performance and lack of inspiritation have marked his card. The current price is way below the intrinsic value of all the IP, provenance and massive professional user goodwill built up over 100 years in busines...discounting any CEO.
I assume that the Instos are as concerned at the effect of Naths ineptitude as ourselves. The erosion in price from perceived value to the current level must be precipitating action amongst them. It wouldn't surprise me to see several happy to pass on their holdings at a reasonable premium (£14-15??) to an interested party wishing to acquire an off-book starting position. As I said yesterday, we must be approaching the level where the sheer value of the global elective surgery backlog spread amongst the orthopaedics players is significant read on to make a bid now rather than wait. People don't seem to realise that the burgeoning backlog effectively adds value day by day to S&N and provides solid horizon volumes for profit projections. This is incredibly cheap if you factor in escalating demand in a huge barrier to entry market. Living life unlimited is now an expectation of the over 50s not a dream.
