Just which bit of your post contradicted my argument? Compared with the figures provided about a month ago a 700k loan has been replaced with this one which is 1.5m. They don't give us the cash position but a month ago it was 500k. Not much of a buffer with debt going up not down. In my humble opinion they are just one production problem away from being insolvant. Just my opinon though - I stress.

I think this announcement is on balance negative. There is no mention of using this to pay off other loans of which they have a copious amount from a number of banks. I'm assuming they have drawn this down since they don't explicitly state that it's being kept in reserve. Clearly, their cash position is not sufficient for them to ride out the current storm without recourse to another bank. The production increase was not stunning given all the new equipment and still no accounts! I'm very cautious on this stock where I was positive. I want to see positive evidence (not hunches) that they are geniunely and sustainably free cash flow positive before my position changes.

Yes in general I agree – a good set of results. The only fly in the ointment was the likely closure of the newly acquired factory because they can’t get the staff. How much of the RMB97m in the balance sheet will need to be written off if this happens. Also the new factory in Sichuan won’t be open for at least 18-24 months. Can they be really be supplied 100% by OEMs without any downside? Still they aren’t the only ones suffering labour problems. There is an excellent article in today’s FT. Extract: In April Yue Yuen, a Taiwanese shoe manufacturer for brands such as Adidas, Nike and Asics, was at the centre of a worker dispute over social security payments. Labour activists said as many as 40,000 employees had participated in the strike at Yue Yuen, which estimates the industrial action has cost it at least $58m.

My point is simple. Because so many people lost so much money (that's the downside of stop losses they take the place of independent thought) if there is even half a chance at getting money back via the law somebody will take it. If not QPP then an invested institution. Its early days but the fact that nothing seems to be happening on the legal front implies the potential letigents are not sure enough of their position. Actions speak louder than words methinks.

The QPP report by Gotham City contains false information. Really?? Not yet proven either way actually - QPP seem to have gone quiet about following through on their legal threats. However, CAR and QPP are different propositions. I at least understand CAR and its products even if I have little faith in their ability to make any money out of anything except their main business. QPP is completely opaque to me. Clearly you are a more insightful investor than me. Good luck with your (absolute) convictions...

Mayday mayday!

NBU & CAMK pay dividends and have not since flotation diluted equity by issuing more of it. QPP does not pay a dividend and just raised £200m in the last financial year since its business seems strangely reluctant to generate sufficient cash.

I'm invested in both this and CAMK. Both have very simple businesses which are easy to understand and are growing fast in a generally supportive environment for them. The probllem for them is that this environment is China and investors having seen what can happen with Chinese companies reversed into US shells are not investing at any price. Furthermore, both companies have floated only recently, are memebers of AIM (weak governance) and have a major founder with a large holding (dangers for minority shareholders). From my perspective this is a binary bet - I either make a load of money or lose it all when the scam is finally revealed. However, compare this to the english equivalent QPP also growing fast, floated recently on AIM with the founder CEO and exec chairman but in my eyes totally opaque although with a near cult following (even after the recent bear strike) and I begin to wonder whether I am mad or the rest of the world. QPP by the way is on a trailing PE of 12

topped up at 92p & 82p a couple of months ago when all was doom and gloom. Now all this optimism is bothering me...

I did sell some at 320 but given that every entrepreneur with half a business wants to cash in via IPOs a 282p price was too tempting. This is a strong company with ironically no broker coverage. Ideal since the main forecasting metric is ones view of financial stockmarkets. i.e. no broker forecasts getting in the way

Don't mind - if you and Rusty mate can russle up 5%+ of the share capital - the floor is yours. Otherwise I'm relying on Sandell to shake the management out of their complacency

What happened to them? Did the current management succeed in showing them the door so they could get back to their private game of playing train drivers? Or are they still around? Any strategy has got to be better than the current one of selected ever more cunning excuses when results inevitably dissapoint.

This stock is already very richly priced given the company's patchy record and earnings prospects. And yet it jumps over 5%?

A mild winter yes but a wet one too! All those flooded fields will not have been productive or will be productive for the next 1-2 months I'm guessing.

If you think this stock is cheap then NBU is even cheaper. It's forecast EPS is 65 and its sp is 75. The problem is that nobody trusts the numbers coming out of these Chinese companies listed of AIM - not surprising given US experience. Buying these shares is really a leap in the dark. However, NBU has been paying a dividend so that is at least tangibile. Camkids is yet to similarly reward investors for their trust I believe

Many moons ago I invested in this company when the sp was 100-130. It all looked so rosy! I then did something I should have done before I bought, I actually read the words coming out from the Board. What had seemed to make sense when skimming made no sense whatsoever when I actually tried to understand what they were talking about. In essence it dawned on me that what was coming out was pure technobabble. I immediately sold for a 20% loss and have not regretted if for one moment. It also taught me a very hard lesson, if you don't understand what the Board are saying then they probably don't either! So having completely screwed the business by trying to ride the mobile payments business fad they have taken what is left and are now riding the next failed cause - tech venture investing A triumph of hope over experience. Thanks Seagull - I wish all my trades are as well timed! Actually, I prefer to think of myself as a longer term investor but have increasingly got round to the view that even then you can't ignore the trading element of investing. A trade can either add to or detract from a patiently cultivated investment. It's something I'm still learning. The Jim Slater method is described at http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/diyinvesting/article-2425500/Investing-legend-Jim-Slater-market-beating-stock-Zulu-Principle.html. I use a whole bunch of metrics since his favoured one of PEG only works for profitable consistently growing companies. I then score all the results and chuck them out to scatter diagrams for easier visual analysis. It's a bit time consuming with all the data gathering but I think its invaluable since it allows me to summarise a whole bunch of relevent but diverse financial and other stats. Keeping that all in my head would be impossible. Happy new year asft
