Mullins, 150% i trust the Indians more than the Chinese, think your earlier link proves the plan has always been to bring ONGC in to Mongolia to feed the refinery, no doubt the conference call in March this year confirms timing and progress,

Question Is, was Mongolia’s plan always to bring India’s ONGC/OVL in all along, as we can see from my previous links there were serious discussion between ONGC and Mongolian ministers back in 2021, have MATAD been used to explore and find the oilfields, this would explain the wildcats, was MB / MATAD part of this master plan, MB is known for being an explorer, will we partner/JV with ONGC/OVL or will they buy our Heron field outright, it really is the only known untapped oilfield that can supply the oil in the quantity the refinery will need.

Another ideal partner could be Gobi Terra (UK) Limited, they have just completed a farmout with Elixir Energy Limited earlier this year, they are run by Mongolian financial guru BAYANJARGAL, Byambasaikhan, he has been involved in some of Mongolias largest energy/mining deals including the Rio Tinto mine.

Just google his name, he pops up everywhere in Mongolian deals and ventures.

That said there is no direct info I can find to say he is interested or involved so regarded as a long shot.

SM, why would i be huniliated if ONGC are not mentioned, i assume you have little knowledge of oilfield farmouts/buy outs, its quite normal for a company to keep suitor names under wraps until a formal offer or proposal is announced, affraid this is the way things normally work.

If ONGC did enter the Mongolian oil exploration club the question is would they want to explore for new fields, i doubt it, they would want to buy one, anyone know of an untapped GIANT oilfield for sale ?.
