ManxK, absolute no reason why we cannot sell Heron field only, however if it goes the JV way GOBI may / or may not be included, depends on deal agreed.

Think most agree that a fund raise is seeming less likely though the NEGS and cynics do love pushing that thought, wonder why.

Margarita, 200 million is a reasonable estimate for Heron given its 60 million barels of recoverable oil.

Expect the bashers and NEGS to be highlighting just a few days left until the end of the month.

Adw, please do not use my name to aid your lies, the production from PCs half of the TAMSAG Basin is well documented, our half has 60 million recoverable barrels, 4.2 billion dollars.

Looking at bar chart oil production they have obviously been drilling way more than 34 wells a year in the more recent years.

On looking at the link again the data appears to have been compilied 2021/2022 so the wells drilled in this doc would have been drilled between 2005 and 2022 hence 17 years, so 589 wells in 17 years equals 34 wells a year and still around 55% brought into production.

Investor, see link, its a few years old but most detailed i can find.

It states PCs have drilled 589 wells and brought 311 into production in their TAMSAG field.

Further down the page you will see a Oil production bar graph for Mongolia, production started to increase in 2005 upto a maximum in 2015, since then it has tailed off.

2005 was the date PC bought TAMSAG from SOCO so if we say PC have been drilling TAMSAG for 20 years thats around 30 wells a year drilled with around circa 55% of these brought into production, these are estimates as the data is not detailed enough to quote exact figures.

Investor33, SOCO had no 2 or 3 D seismic, they just poked holes in the ground, the part of the TAMSAG basin they sold to PC has had 311 producing wells and still produces thousands of bbl/d.

After yesterdays posts it seems we are agreed on the way ahead, we sell Heron to PC for huge amount of cash or JV deal on Heron, we take our cash and let MB run riot like a kid in a candy store to explore Mongolia so we can plunder its oil riches.

Question is who is telling MB / Matad what has been decided, who is sending him the e mail ?.

I nominate WOS but it needs proof read first.

Concur, resources of the basin are estimated to be about 1.364 BILLION TONS, or roughly 10 billion barrels of oil.

So many permutations of how this could go, best bit being they are all good for share holders.

SOCO sold out their 85% interest of TAMSAG field to PC for 93 million, however SOCO were never that successful, they drilled 27 wells and only had 350 bbl/d in production when they sold out.

MATAD have drilled two wells and H1 has 800 bbl/d potential, so very different figures.

Also that was way back in 2005, oil price then was around $49.

Just to add.

As WOS suggests, a buy out of the Heron field by PC would suit Mongolia, being realistic, MATAD do not have the funds to develop Heron as fast as needed by the refinery, selling the Heron field only allows suits PC and Mongolia and gives MATAD (IoM company) the financing it needs to become a big player on its other Mongolian blocks.

WOS, seems we are thinking along same lines, these thoughts tick every box for Mongolia, PC, MATAD and most share holders.

WOS, my takeover bid post (Friday 17.59) is purely my thoughts based on the quite obvious manipulation of MATAD share price and the arrival of the stockbashers since last October.

In my later post i suggested a low ball offer of around 4 or 5p per share, i am quite sure this would be knocked back by shareholders and MATAD, there may well be an increased offer but i would doubt more than 7 or 8p would be offered.

As you suggest and i agree there are so many permutations any takeover could take, for myself, as an investor here for the long game and willing to hold until post refinery i would not welcome a takeover, i honestly feel that post refinery with more wells drilled and daily production in the low/ mid thousands bbl/d we will see a sp around 30p, longer term, 5 years plus and 8 or 9 thousand bbl/d obviously we would be far higher than 30p per share.

Heron field is estimated to hold 60 million barrels of recoverable oil, even more by introducing new technologies.

If i am right its a case of wait for an offer to be made, realistically it would come before spring work starts, as i previously said they / the hostile bidder would not want to see H1 producing at 500+ bbl/d as this would up the price they would have to pay.

Hamm, you keep saying things like "We will find out soon if MB has been with us shareholders or against us and sell us. ", what makes you think he is against us ?.

One big reason he would not be involved as follows, he is an oilman, he wants to be the BOSS, if we were part of some devious takeover plan he would no longer be the boss, the buyer would be, quite sure MB wants to grow MATAD into something a lot bigger, he now has his chance.

Also, given where the sp is being held the offer would probably be a real lowball, 4p or 5p, somehow doubt the shareholders would be pleased by that, who knows, but this is being kept within a range, of that i am sure.

Purely my view / guess.

Unnecessary hostility towards holders is the derampers / stockbashers way of ruining the board, deter investors using it, scaring them off, back in Sept/Oct someone/entity flipped a swich and these nasty tactics started.

Add to this the block sells that are keeping the sp in check it adds upto a takeover bid, its certainly not random actions, this has to come before we start work (5 - 6 weeks) they cannot allow us to work on and improve H1 production, if they did our sp will increase and all the time and money they have thrown at keeping our price in check would be wasted.
