Fair point. But living so long in Kazakhstan has given me a healthy appreciation of even the daftest forms of protest and the dignified way our police handle it.

We should all chip in and send a care package to the protesters for their help. I think they mean well but their actions don't align properly with their motivations. Perhaps best we should try to convince them that a brilliant on shore oil discovery is a good way to start moving toward ethical energy supply and stop sourcing from unpleasant regimes.
