The sp was all over the place yesterday as market makers tried to tempt both buyers and sellers. In the end there didn't seem to be all that many in either category. We'll probably see more volatility over the next week or two as analysts absorb the half year numbers. The more I look at the half year results the more satisfactory they seem to be. This a very reliable business with high margins in a market which will grow and grow. New sales were maybe slightly disappointing but I suspect quite a lot of management time was spent integrating the two new businesses both of which seem to be performing well. The second half is traditionally stronger than the first half so I think we can still expect the final results to exceed market expectations. And I would hope the Board would propose a substantially increased dividend - 2p per share? The share price has risen sharply over the last 2 years. I doubt if we'll see that pace of rise repeated but on a 2/3 year view I think the prospects still look very appealing. The CEO with 15% plus of the shares is now 57/58 (?) and will surely want to cash in before too long. Any takeout price would have to be north of £4 in my opinion. I've done very well out of iomart in the last couple of years but I am also very happy to ignore short term volatility and stay in for the ride!

It's always harder to interpret results when there has been a lot of M and A activity but these results look very solid to me. The long term looks absolutely fine to me. The question is how will the market respond short term. Is the growth rate fast enough to justify the current rating?

Looking forward to tomorrow's RNS. I reckon the 6 months' results will be comfortably ahead of analysts' expectations and that the Board will have very positive things to say about the 2 recent acquisitions. I think we'll see the price heading back to the £3 mark before long. Remember Angus MacSween still holds more than 15% of this company and he'll be looking for a big payday before too long.

NPlus1 Brewin have downgraded from buy to hold with target price of 282p. Iomart has great record of beating analysts' expectations and will do so again. Expect upgrades after results' announcement.

This has done well the last few weeks but I think there's more to come.

Company confirms dividend payment and sp falls 16%! Anyone know why?

A bit of price drift was to be expected after Directors sold shares at 275p but I don't understand the scale of today's drop.

Inevitably some price weakness on announcement of placing of direcors's shares. Great opportunity to top up.

Another cracking acquisition announced this morning. This is a solid long term hold with great potential. 2014 will see a share price of £4 plus IMO. The exec directors are taking the opportunity to sell some shares but the main man Angus MacSween will still own more than 15% of the equity after the sales. Increased free float should help to attract more institutional investors as well.

Looks like another excellent acquisition announced in RNS this morning. Iomart have repeatedly shown they know how to integrate businesses like this. This deal should get us over £3 sp pretty quickly IMO.

Main points I took were: Recent restructuring involved selling peripheral units at good prices. Now focusing on wealth and pension management businesses, stockbroking and asset management. Strong bal sh with net cash. Focus on cost savings eg relocating back office function to Romford. Positive prelim results announced on 14 June Not a flyer I don't think but I hope to see decent gain as underlying profitability increases.

PRES and IQE have been 2 bright spots for me in last few days amongst many other dull ones.

Just bought in here following Farday tip. Fundamentals look good but not really expecting immediate fireworks. I think this will be a slow burner over next 18/24 months.

Slightly lukewarm market response to incredibly positive trading update. I think once the analysts do their sums on what this means for 2013/14 and 2014/15 we will see significant upgrades and a further leap forward in the price. I can certainly see 300p within 6 months. And in my opinion the downside risk is limited.
