RE: Scancell are today’s Stockwatch in the Daily Mail26 Jan 2023 11:17
EE,
i completely agree with your comments as below,
"If retail investors on bulletin boards can possibly misunderstand something, then they will do so!
And, like the myths around the pandemic and its management by governments, once those wrong ideas are out there and in circulation, there is literally nothing that can be said to correct misunderstandings (which can be spectacular and entirely unwarranted by the actual facts in news items)."
I'm not too sure where you were placing that statement in the chronology of Scancell's "journey" but the point you make is so valid if taken in the (long term) overview.
Specifically,
"If retail investors on bulletin boards can possibly misunderstand something, then they will do so!"
Retail investors on this BB have spectacularly misunderstood "something" about Scancell since 2012 and that is the time it takes to move a platform such as Moditope from discovery to commercialisation.
There were posters suggesting that trials would be underway on Moditope by 2013. this was plainly a misunderstanding of the process of moving a product from R&D to Commercialisation.
Thus overexpectation has been a major feature of Scancell's progress on BBs and nothing has changed. Just look at the posts over the last 11 years, there's always the promise from posters of news just around the corner.
Well value enhancing news has been forthcoming but not at the pace that investors crave or many have promised in their posts here.
As you say EE, "If retail investors on bulletin boards can possibly misunderstand something, then they will do so!"
In my view FWIW your statement (I suspect aimed mainly at the most recent RNS) actually sums up very succinctly the problem many investors here have misunderstood since 2011/2012.
I believe Scancell has a good chance of succeeding , but maybe not as quickly (for maxium shareholder benefit as some might still think.
